Morning all. Here is the FINAL table after the 2016-17 League 1 Prediction League!
Some good, consistent scoring on this final weekend of games and there were lots of 'safe' games which helped score points.
The winning score was still only 3 points though - achieved by Donnington Saddler, Asps, saddla and Ancient Moaner - well done to all of you!
At the end of it all, this year's Prediction League Champion is...ME! Slightly embarrassed in writing that and not quite sure how I won by such a big gap in the end, ahead of lots of seasoned predictors, but I just kept accruing points and on a consistent basis I suppose!
Below is also a table showing the number of weekly wins. Quite an even spread and good to see lots of people winning weeks along the way. It also goes to show that winning a week isn't the be all and end all as Saigon is second bottom (snigger!) of the weekly wins table but still achieved second in the actual prediction league table! Steady and consistent performance is what is needed in the prediction league it seems!
Hope you have all enjoyed it, thanks for the kind comments - makes it worth running it when you know it is appreciated - and have a good summer's rest and preseason before it all kicks off again in August! :D

Thanks jj great stuff.
Interesting comparing to the two tables, demonstrates how consistently inconsistent some of us must be with our predictions

Mid-table mediocrity again for me. I know my place. :(
Thanks JJ for your efforts. Doing the predictions and reading Welshie's preambles all part of the Saturday morning routine for me.

Yup. 2nd AGAIN, meaning the last 5 seasons are: 1st, 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd. So I'm either winning it, or proving to be the nearest challenger, regularly finishing above skilled and experienced predictors. I can't legislate for predictors having their one big, lucky season, before slipping back into the squalid little pit of their own mediocrity.
Yes. He predicted once before realising he didn't have a chance again and fled in tears.
Yes.
None that I know of.
No. You missed 4. LOL
I called it, in the sure and certain knowledge that I would succeed. Again.
Yes, a bit closer than I thought, and I must admit being very nervous when Rochdale equalised. :?
I thank you
Hmmm, it is something that will need to be looked at, but considering the circumstances, I am exceedingly satisfied with myself.
Please address all sycophantic congratulationary adulations / mewling, pitiful excuses to:
Admiral Gloaty McGloatface,
Bombastic House,
The Fortress of Conceit,
The Summit of Arrogance,
Lower Irritant Walk,
Gloathamptonshire

I have both the experience and competence to do this.
Pretty confident of kicking on and grasping what's on offer, as usual in these circumstances.

Congratulations on your second successive 2nd place Saigon.
Getting used to being runner up?

Thanks for all your stuff Jolly and an excellent win, I must admit my first season was a little inconsistent near the end but I blame this solely on Saigon who probably cheated by using some devilish instrument of heinous vaticination.
Looking forward to next years prediction jaunt. :D
