Look Jon, here's an idea...
Vale couldn't score all year.
We're playing about 15 defenders and holding midfielders.
How about putting an extra forward on?

WAHEY!!!!!!! Walsall substitution, 67 minutes ........ Hayles-Docherty replaces Maz Kouhyar
With 10 minutes to go, the words "Banjo" .. "Cow's bum" .... and "Barn door" come to mind.

Walsall's 2nd substitution, 81 minutes, co-inciding with our 12th corner ..... (Candlin on for Bakayoko)

Yellow card Port Vale, 92 minutes - I'm going to guess that it's the goalkeeper for wasting time
Full time, and it ends 0-1 ... and you know what? I really couldn't care less.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bonser pulled the plug after this debacle, the embarrassment is utterly incomprehensible.
Beaten by two relegated teams in one week............it just defies description.
I trust the happy clappers will come up with various plausible excuses, but lets be honest it just stinks.

That was Vale's first goal in around 9 and a half hours.

If we keep this sort of momentum into next season, he'll surely be shown the exit.

And only their second away win of the season. Gillingham will not be happy with our considerably less than full-strength side, that's for sure.
Where we are going with JW? Perhaps 1 win in our last 8 matches might give us an idea.

I've just had an e-mail from the club (at 21:41) headed, 'Here Next Tuesday' - Saddlers v Port Vale
Presumably, on the same basis that some people want another EU referendum, Whitney wants the game replayed!

And so those heady dreams of 11th slip from our grasp.
To be fair, giving a few youngsters a go was probably right for us though as others have said, if I was a Gills fan I'd be a bit miffed. But on reflection it's not our problem - a bit like Tony Pulis and a Stoke side that looked a bit lack lustre against his former side on the last day of a season all those years ago.

Embarrassing.
Every game I see of Jon Whitney's Walsall the less I would care if he went, awful. Feel very sorry for Gills and Bury.
Only positives were the youngsters getting run outs and Kory Roberts playing well.

Vale have Fleetwood Saturday who need to win to go up automatically - Gills have the Cobblers. Might be worth putting a coupla bob on either game - just for interest sake seeing as there's no interest at Walsall now. I almost changed my flights to go see this game - glad I didn!!!!. First season since I was 7 that I will not have seen a home game at least once. Gutted!

That was by no doubt the worst 2 football teams I've seen in over 5 years
Words just fail how bad that was and if anyone is in any doubt if we keep that management team and squad we will be relegated quicker then Rotherham were.
If Whitney has any loyalty to any of the fans tonight he'll gracefully resign
Love the bloke as a physio hate him as a manager.
Tactically inept in every way
Get rid of him tonight, put Chambers in charge for Sunday's match and get a new experienced management team in the summer
... and they can forget me going on Sunday, watching them pick up medals they don't deserve

After the lack of effort from half our team at Cov I also decided to draw the season to a close and not bother with Vale or Mk Dons.
A good decision by the looks of it!

That reminds me... it's more or less a year to the day that Gillingham capitulated in injury time at Burton, isn't it?
Yeah; balls to 'em.

Well if anyone can come on here and try to defend that crap then They clearly look at football and our club in a very different way to me and I'm sure most others
Put simply that was a perfect example of no passion, no pride and no commitment
You cant point any fingers at the young lads but someone needs to check JW self assessment tax form for a payment from PVFC because that was a blatant roll over and let them have it result..
Shocking end to the season in recent weeks and I've heard all I want about how he inherited a squad revolving and a load of loan players and this and that and the other - the fact is he has taken this team backwards this season and I don't believe his methods are suited to football at this level and clearly the players have had enough too because they've stopped caring and that hurts anyone that really cares about WFC..
My god our club is in an awful mess and what I've said in other topics about the onset of negativity and it gaining momentum is a worrying truth in my eyes - goodness knows where we might end up.

Southend v Bury is another interesting game, with Southend still in with a chance of the playoffs, and Bury with the possibility of relegation - thanks to us!

Liam who rang WM - what a tosser. Clearly not been all season.
Dobson was a cut above.
We were ok. Deserved a win.
They scored a great goal - class infact.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm certain we are doomed to struggle next year unless major changes happen - we simply have no heart and I'm sick of hearing the bullshit in the press about how the ne t performance is about pride and the shirt and playing for the fans - talk is cheap and the obvious facts are they don't mean it.. they can't mean it based on recent displays..
How any team can put in the performance of Saturday, come out and admit it was unacceptable and then do exactly the same (arguably worse) the ne t game are either not fit to represent the club or taking the p*** out of us all
Who's going to offer the next lorry load of excuses and what will they be??????
Utter rubbish from the players, the management and the board - we are in free fall at the moment
