The signing of JET suggests they might be.

BUT, there's still a few weeks of the transfer window left. Most business is yet to be done.

Whitney is looking for another defender to add some more depth.

A player who is liked by a few people on here, George Waring of Stoke City, has gone on loan to Shrewsbury until January.

Would this be a touch of info I wonder?

Looks a good player, Centre Half, 6'2" and played a lot of last season on loan at Bradford, made 34 appearances scoring two goals, also won seven awards at Bradford City's end of season awards, including the Player of the Year award, may have been young player, not sure, as its taken from Wikipedia.

It does say that he is right footed though, we need a left sided defender in my book.

But maybe Whitney has now realised like the rest of us that Jase McCarthy looks far better as a right back, and he is prepared to use Edwards at left back until Henry is fit again.

Doubt it. He's far too good for this league and wants a move to the Championship, he dominated this league with Bradford and then has just signed a new long term contract with West Ham. He even started a couple of Europa League qualifiers in the past week. I highly doubt he'd want to come here.

Surely just get a left back in...don't understand why it's so difficult.

Not sure that one makes sense, he rejected Championship clubs to move to Eastleigh as his family settled in Hampshire...

Henry is off to Brentford, according to a chap off another forum (who has been very relialbe, said Sawyers to them was done weeks before it was announced, also was the first to say that the Smith move last season was very much on and happening, whilst all of our fans dismissed the link as putting 2 and 2 together)..

According to him (I hate to use the term sources as it's quite frequently absolute bullshit) the deal is.

- £1m upfront
- £500k after 50 league appearances
- £500k after promotion
- 30% sell-on

Would have preferred more upfront as we have seen how we can be shafted by sell on clauses and getting them over the line.

The only reason they haven't announced it, is that they will be announcing 2/3 signings together this afternoon.. said players looking likely to be (Sully Kaikai from Palace, Cameron McGeehan from Luton and Henry)

Not a bad deal IMO, he hasn't been the same quality of player since SOD took over, been injured a couple of times and got an absolute defensive spanking twice in the play-offs by Championship standard forward players at Barnsley, that's what will have put Spurs and the big boys off.

If he brings his defensive game on and plays enough, he could play at the very top level. Let's hope he does so we can get a nice big wedge in!

Obviously things are fluid on deadline day especially in a young english player, but I'd say this is 95% confirmed.

He was very good for PNE at this level. Did get a bad leg break but that was a few years ago now.

He means that Brentford will be announcing the signings together, not us - don't worry, I doubt we will be signing another 2 midfielders!!

One thing this transfer window has achieved is to make me want to cancel my Sky Sports subscription. The better half will be giving them a bell ASAP to tell them to fudge right off with it all.

Lets go get him with our new found riches

Edit: Apparently he can't join another club till January :(

Yes - would make an excellent acquisition, and scores goals on a regular basis from the wing. It was he who scored against Darlow from the half way line if I remember?

He could've easily played championship when he was at his peak at Orient. Probably stayed there too long.

I would love to see us go after John Mousinho from Burton. Captain material, likes a tackle, experienced, knows how to get out of the division and local. Not getting a game at Burton and could do a job for us. Younger than Chambers and could fill in at centre half if the midfield is over loaded.

Yes he would be a good choice....been promoted with Burton twice. Lairdy played with him at PNE so could have a word.

There's still some decent out of contract players floating around aswell....I see Port Vale picked up Ryan Taylor (ex Newcastle) this week...scored yesterday.
