Just found my CD-Rom with them all on, remember using a TV capture card to get them from Goals Extra and Sky Sports News! Quality is varied but all watchable. I am sure all games (including cup games) are there and a couple of bonus features are there too. Most of these don't exist on YouTube or anywhere else so enjoy!

Thank you so much for this - my favourite season following Walsall.
There is some footage here I thought I would never see again, other than my own hit and miss collection on VCR! Fantastic memories

That Lincoln home game was one of the first I looked for.....
Some of those away trips I never saw the footage of because I was there and then missed the round up - there wasn't as much coverage back then - Preston was one of those.
I often think I am looking back at that season with rose tinted spectacles at times, but seeing that footage again it really was fantastic. A story of us and them - unity in the team and on the terraces.

Brilliant, thanks for posting these up.
I have gone straight to the Darren Wrack goal at Sincil Bank, as a reminder of how plausible automatic promotion became that day.

Superb Coxy!
I've "stickied" this thread so there's no chance of it being deleted after a period of inactivity.
If a more knowledgable moderator knows how to put it into an archive section even better.

Coxy, as my older brother it is not natural for me to praise you in public, but you have made many a Saddler misty-eyed as we relive that fantastic season tonight.
Nice one!

Cant download as away at the moment but will do when i am home. Such a brilliant time and its a shame football has changed so much that we will never see anything like that again.

Thank you...what a great watch....made me realise what a triumph that was built on 5 or 6 key players and good use of the loan system. Our team today is much more gifted but has it got the heart and desire that is required ? we will find out over the next 8 games!

Some good memories I went to all 3 of the Millwall games we played against them In 7 days crazy.
Makes you realise how football changes so quickly vs Fulham at home the commentator says QPR couldn't afford to sign Rob Steiner so he came to Walsall instead  you wouldn't hear that nowadays.

Re: All the goals from the 98-99 promotion season...
My first season, very happy (if a little faded) memories as a 7/8 year old. :D
Would love to see full highlights for some other seasons around that time, 00/01 and 02/03 for example. If anyone has them, I'd really love to see them!
Also love to see the 1-0 victory at the Baggies in August 99. My first ever away game, I had to sit in the Baggies end with family friends and keep myself together when we scored

Fulham's 2nd goal at Bescot......WHAT A HIT!
Brilliant to look through these, I wasn't a supporter at this point, I was only young, but looked like great days (especially Oldham at home) Bescot looked packed!

Noticeable increase in the pace and intensity of the games back then watching those clips, makes our style at the moment (and maybe football in general) almost pedestrian

Re: All the goals from the 98-99 promotion season...
Loved this season because it was so unexpected. None of us really knew Ray Graydon and a couple of weeks before the season started I think we only had 8 players on the books. With the previous season's talisman (Boli) gone and Peron going nobody gave us a chance.
One of the interesting things on these goals is seeing Man City fans going absolutely mental because they equalised against us at Bescot. I sometimes wonder whether those 2,000 or so secretly miss days out like that compared to their current existence.
Another thing that I thought whilst watching these is the fact that there are lots of people who like watching their football from the halfway line or as close as they can get. For the last half a dozen years or so, the family enclosure has stopped on the halfway line meaning there are hundreds of very good views of the game that are now unavailable. I get why the police might like a sterile area but half the length of the pitch is OTT.

Re: All the goals from the 98-99 promotion season...
Finally finished watching all those goals, what I'd pay to see some of those players now, I was 14 years old this particular season and I remember being gutted about peron going as he still is the best player I've seen at Walsall And really would have loved to have seen him here for a couple more seasons.
If we had Rambo, keates and wrack from that side in today's current team we would have walked this league.
Smiling all the way through those clips

Just Keates would have been enough, and we would have walked it. Never was the same since Evans went back. Have sadly missed a midfielder that can be box to box. Mantom can do it when he feels like it, but no where near enough. Do you remember how Keates virtually dragged us over the line single handed in the last few weeks of our title winning campaign? We have no player like that in this team.
Graydon didn't rate Peron :D Said he was "okay" with the ball, but wouldn't do what was asked of him when we didn't have the ball. Was a pleasure to watch him anyway for that one season.
Cheers for those goals, one of the best things I have ever seen. Popcorn !
