He wasn't...
On a brighter note, it's now Swindon Town 1 Sheffield United 1, which lifts us back up to 7th place

He's back at Chelsea having treatment on his hamstring. Be surprised if he'll be fit for next week. It'll be bax, brandy & another up front

McQuilkin on for Baxendale, 85 min.... fresh legs and possession are the order of the day!!
Ngoo on for Sawyers, 88 min.
Edit... just to change the subject, England are 105 for 3, chasing 198 to win against South Africa (that's after 12 overs)

Full time, and it's still 1-0. Sighs of relief all round....... :D
Presumably we will be without Westcarr for 3 games (Port Vale and Bristol City at home, plus Carlisle away). I can't see the club appealing against a straight red card for fighting.....

All about the points at this stage of the season so good result. Missing our top scorer for 3 games is a problem though.

Westcarr such a nice chap he felt like he should even it up. The ref was a right idiot. Mostly in our favour today, you can tell he has never played the game.
The first sending off was a bit suspect looked a 50/50 to me but i didnt really see it all that well tbh. Then the challenge that took Westcarr out was a disgrace, over the top and the only intent was to hurt him, no wonder he was pissed off, ref didnt even give a freekick. No excuses for him though, he is an experienced player, and he has let everyone down. Shame really as he scored a cracking goal and was playing quite well.
Poor game both teams worked very hard without creating much. Baxendale and Brandy worked their poonarni's off. Taylor was superb again today, be a huge loss if someone poaches him.
Once again Smith refuses to make substitutions for effect. Ngoo is woeful at times, but you cant expect him to make an impact being given 4 minutes a game. He's gonna have to play now anyway.
A welcome three points, it wasnt comfortable, it was on piece of skill that won it in the end. Still frustrating as we should have won by a few more goals.

Re: Shrewsbury Town (H) League One, 29 Mar 3pm
I was sat in the wheelchair area right near both sendings off,
Firstly the Shrews sending off was harsh a yellow at most
Secondly Westcarr is a foolish idiot and I hope Smith throws the book at him. Imho he wasn't fouled, he wasn't injured (7stitches, I suppose he was injured then lol ) Foley told him as much and Westcarr turned his head with a face that could kill then got up with no thought of his injury (amazingly) and got in Foleys face. To defend Westcarr I did not see an headbutt but Foley sharply turned away clutching his face which after two seconds suddenly didn't hurt.
P.s Ngoo is hopeless, step up to the plate Hewitt.
P.p.s really impressed with McQuilkin again with his 10min cameo, loves to get forward and attack

Hm-m, 7 stitches makes it sound like quite a gash. Maybe he'd have been out anyway with the injury, so the 3-match ban is perhaps a little irrelevant in the circumstances.
If some people think it wasn't a foul on Westy, did he slice himself open on some really sharp grass, or what? No excuse for what he did though, even so.
A very welcome 3 points again, even if we did appear to make harder work of it than necessary (as ever).

The ref had no idea, he booked a Shrewsbury player for sliding into the win the ball as clean as a whistle as you will ever see, and yet didn't even give a freekick for the foul on Westcarr.
Where do they get them from?

That foul by ngoo's brother was a fantastic tackle yet got booked, quite baffling. The ref was awful and did seem a 'homer'.

Re: Shrewsbury Town (H) League One, 29 Mar 3pm
cant remember o'donnell having a save to make today, i think we looked solid enough defensively particulary with mantom and chambers sitting well keeping it simple.
bax and brandy worked very hard and westcarr was having a good game, some neat touches and silky skills from sawyers again just wish that boy would be more physical, so much potential there.
shrewsm offered very little, contender for me to be the worst side ive seen this year along with stevenage and carlisle, do like the look of the lads woods in the middle though and talking to a chap infront of me he was released by us, thought he hada good game, works hard, and could see him along side mantom when chambers goes.
on another note, about three rows behind me there was a few handbags with a couple of lads arguing about westcarr with them offering to take each other outside.
there are about three/four lads every week who i here shouting lazy westcarr (antagonizing fans who i would say are not big supporters of westcarr) i dont agree with getting on our players backs but these lads are riding westcarrs johnson every week and sound pathetic! did anyone else see it happening in block 4 today ?
happy with the three points and firsttime ive seen us do a treble on a side, UTS

500 away fans, rather pathetic but there was a small group of people who refused to come due to our pricing of games for away fans especially for juniors.
