Everything's just going wrong.

Only good news is that Crawley are beating Posh.

PNE 15 fouls to 6. 1 yellow to our 1 yellow and 1 red. Surely if they persistently keep fouling the ref needs to do something about it.

Garner was doing most of the fouling for Preston, and he's been substituted.....

Yep, that's what happens when forwards work hard and put themselves about a bit. Maybe ours should try it some time?

Have they got 6 games "in hand" just down to matches being postponed due to weather?

If they won them all they'd go above us

Crawley 1-0 Peterborough……..still on track to win all their games in hand

Just got back.

I am too disappointed to provide an insightful summary but I can summarise as such.

1. Again. Smith got it wrong with the team selection, and with his changes - wrong.

2. Mal Benning 1/10. If Andy Taylor isn't fit soon we need to get J Chambers over there or Purkiss or even someone in on loan. Absolutely shocking.

3. westcarr was out spearhead but (as it's his game) came short leaving absolutely nothing up front. Not his fault - selection the problem here.

4. Brandy and Lalkovic were largely anonymous.

5. Bax and Sawyers at least got in and around the final third when they came on.

6. Featherstone was our best player - Adam Chambers should have been the one to come off.

7. Butler was crap again. Downing was rubbish for first ten mins.

Deano HAS to shake things up with his selection for the Cov and Wolves games.

Bax, Sawyers and Featherstone (to keep his place) have to come in.

Garner is a cheating Scunthorpe.

Baxendale in for Coventry, he was our best attacking player.

A defeat today is disappointing, but the home losses to MK Dons and Crawley have cost us far, far more.

Meadow Lane seems a long time ago now.

Dean could still change things to make a difference but I think he has been in denial too long about the shortcomings in attack.

Use Baxendale more, Lalkovic central....leave Nnnnoooogoooood out altogether.

And stop blaming defeats on 'bad luck', weather, referees etc.

Concentrate on chance creation, goal scoring, quick passing, shooting...

But expect will not happen as hasn't happened even though it was obviously needed for a long time...

"I have been watching Ngoo for a long time..." Well you should have watched someone else!

Agree he should be included ... at least he brought a save ( the only one?) from their goalie.
My first view of Ngoo ... he should have done better & reached that cross. Perhaps he'll also star in a movie - ' Tall men don't jump'.

BBC website blames O'Donnell for the og. Totally wrong. I was right in line. He almost managed to save it. It was an idiot back pass by Downing.
Thought dismissal was harsh. Will be interested to see it again.

So frustrating to discover Peterborough had lost & wehadn't taken advantage

Fairly tight game, but Preston deserved the win as they created more chances.

We took control of the game after Baxendale and Sawyers came on, but could still barely create a clear chance. There's very rarely any tempo or urgency to our attacks and they look easy to defend against.

The red card was too far away from where we were sitting, but that Garner and most of the Preston players were diving all game so it wouldn't suprise me if he conned the ref into sending Mantom off.

Our defence has been great all season but now seems to be quite shaky. Downing's own goal was an awful error, Butler and Chambers were not up to usual standards and Benning is just too unreliable, he can be solid one game and dreadful the next.

The midfield worked hard but offered little in terms of creativity. Brandy and Lalkovic were barely in the game, although I think Smith should have taken off the latter as Brandy look the more dangerous of the two.

Results went our way elsewhere, a win against Coventry is a must now if the playoff charge is to stay alive.

According to Matt Maher, Deano will almost certainly be appealing Mantoms red.

Good game in the end and probably just about the right result.

They are a typical Grayson side in that they are organised, reasonably physical and have a good delivery with players who can take advantage of that good delivery. Giving such a side a goal lead isn't great. O'Donnell was by far the busier 'keeper. We could have snatched an equaliser if N'Goo could have got a nibble on a delicious cross at the end. Preston would be my favourites to go up via the play-offs so not the worst thing in the world losing there. What could do any prospect we have greater harm is the potential absence on Mantom for three games. I hate it when refs seem to relish brandishing the red card and today was no exception. It was out and up within a second or so of the challenge.

Dean sometimes cries wolf with refs as a deflective tactic but today's was an absolute homer. Probably the worst I've seen this season and made a very difficult away game virtually impossible and potentially handicaps us for the next three.

We're not playing awfully just now, but several really important players have dropped from 8's or 9's out of 10 each week to 6's and 7's which means we're not quite the side we were a month or two ago. We could still do it but we need to find a boost from somewhere.

With Benning
P11 Pts 12 Conc 15

With Taylor
P22 Pts 35 Conc 18

It's not as catastrophic as Taundry's "contribution" last season but if we had Taylor's points ratio for the whole season, we'd be level with Peterborough now.

Stats smatzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Downing has been playing with a permanent brain fart and Butler hasnt been that great lately. They are all to blame.

Mind you, i love Andy Taylor. He can penetrate.

We weren't at the races again today. I can name three players whom I thought played well and that's O'Donnell, Featherstone and Mantom. All three had good games.

On the other end of the spectrum were Butler, Downing and Benning.
Butler kept playing the pass short to a man and he wasn't quite his usual self in the air.
Downing scored a stupid own goal and kept losing the ball.
Benning kept on letting the winger get past him when vying for the ball in the air, something Taylor would lap up.

Brandy was annonymus but hardly anyone passed to him.
Lalkovic was poor, again. His first touch is woeful.
Chambo's were ok.
Westcarr tried but against mossiv CB's, his task was hard. Peach of a cross that Ngoo should have scored from.
Ngoo did ok, should have scored, again.
Baxendale did well. Would keep him as a sub and bring him on earlier as a real impact player. His workrate would tire defenders pretty quickly.
Sawyers did well. Deserves to be recalled into the team now.

Garner is a diving, cheating piecehead.
The ref was eartha, again.
Was never a red card. They did much worse tackles. Typically, it was Garner who was 'fouled'.
If we don't win at Coventry, the play-off dream is pretty much over...

...but I believe. UTS!
