Preston North End (A) League One Sat 1st Mar 3pm
Our stuttering form needs kick-starting, and where better than at Deepdale on Saturday where we come up against the Lilywhites of Preston. They currently occupy 4th place in the table 14 points ahead of us on 61 points, and Simon Grayson their Manager is on record as saying they're still aiming for an automatic promotion place. We don't need telling they're a marvellous club in all aspects - we will no doubt have "pnethor" to supply that. Preston's most recent League One form:
1 Feb Notts County (H) Won 2-0
8 Feb Tranmere Rovers (A) Won 1-2
15 Feb Leyton Orient (H) Drew 1-1
18 Feb MK Dons (A) Drew 0-0
22 Feb Colchester United (A) Won 1-2
25 Feb Rotherham United (H) Drew 3-3
Joe Garner is Preston's leading marksman with 18 goals this season. He was booked last night at home to Rotherham but I've seen nothing to suggest any automatic ban! It's worth noting that in that game Rotherham had 4 goal attempts, 3 of which were on target, and scored 3 goals.
In view of (a) our apparent ability to produce better performances in our away games, and (b) the possibility that Romaine Sawyers might start, with Michael Ngoo being kept as an impact sub (we can but hope) - I'll be brave and suggest we can win this one, say 1-2 (Westcarr and Mantom).

No time for trying not to lose games anymore, got to try and win them. Win this, and the Wolves game, and we may just be back in it. We can do it !

A point would be a very good result. Their home record is similar to our away record so on that basis we may just get it.
So, 1-1 it is.

0-1 Walsall.
PNEThor to wear a "Harriet Harman Affiliated Me" T-shirt to the game.

3-0 to Walsall, Westy and Brandy x2. Bounce back in style, and prove our impressive away form will continue despite home form!

Let's hope we see a repeat of last year's Deepdale performance, rather than the one in this season's reverse fixture.

In all seriousness, it's happened to us again, hasn't it?
We end up being the opposition in a game that can't be won.
Exactly like what happened at Albion with Jeff Astle, we get the same situation again.
We might as well play some of the fringe players in this and put on a show.

Maybe the PNE forwards will be a little hesitant in shooting, for fear of showing
exuberance on a solemn occasion.

Haven't PNE already played twice at home since the sad passing of Sir Tom Finney? Leyton Orient (1-1) and Rotherham (3-3)
Don't think we can use this as an excuse.

I agree. If we don't win this by three clear goals, I will be writing in the strongest possible terms to my local MP.

Some of the things I read on here make me feel so intelligent, I'm really not.
Only pop on here now and then, to make myself feel better about myself.

We seem to play better against the better teams than those at the bottom so we must be in with a chance of nicking all 3 points today.

Sky bets have made Preston clear favourites to win, at even money. The draw is 12/5 and an away win is a tempting 11/4.......

Not quite, win a few then would have teams below us so would then lose a few. That`s why we love being a saddler!

With Featherstone playing from the off it looks like we are going to keep it tight and let them come at us. Plan A for today seems to be to counter attack.
