I noticed Swindon 14 chances 5 on target, Colchester 1 none on target, and you think our's is bad.

Re: Peterborough United (A) League One Fri Feb 14th 7.45pm
watched the game in comfort from home with commentary from bbc wm.
would have taken a 0-0 before kick-off.
on another day we could have won?
we created a few in the first half but as usual no finishing product. ngoo did well, getting much sharper with a few games under his belt.
2nd half huffed and puffed but as usual no end product.
they had the best chance in the 2nd half.
makeshift defense did well against there powerful strike force.

In this eartha weather, far from home (well, near the fens), makeshift defence, dark night .... good point and a good re-grouping after Saturday's disaster.

Oh, and huge respect to the 182! :D

All things considered, I'm very happy with a point from this one, especially after the Posh beat Orient last time out while we struggled for any form vs MKD.
To those complaining about WM coverage, it's been announced on WM for at least the last 2 days that the whole game would be broadcast on DAB, but due to other programming, only the early part of the 1st half and last 20 minutes would be on FM.
Can't be overtaken tomorrow, so 7th place stays ours for another week, unless there's any relevant midweek games coming up.

Re: Peterborough United (A) League One Fri Feb 14th 7.45pm
Just got back. Defensively we were sound, and surprisingly didn't miss Butler at all. 7/10's from the entire team to be honest, it is just a shame that the pitch was such a bog as I think we could of had that. The centre of the park especially was an absolute mud bath, and because of this we couldn't attack like we wanted, and instead of passing to the feet of Westcarr we had to rely more and more on hoofing it to him and Ngoo. Both us and Posh didn't really seemed bothered about the centre of the midfield though, it was sort of a no-go area. If you tried to play a pass across it, the ball would just stop dead in it's tracks. Because of this we both tried to attack down our wings, but thanks to midfield being much less in the game, Chambers and Mantom could help out to defend from their wide attacks just like they could with ours.
Brandy had the best chance of the game for us, fired just over in the last few minutes.
Mantom easily MOTM for me, is was pinging pinpoint 40 yard passes everywhere, and even on that bog he never seemed to tire and was up and down until the last few minutes. He is class.

Re: Peterborough United (A) League One Fri Feb 14th 7.45pm
A draw was a fair result. We were the better team in the first half and Posh came to life in the second half. Luckily for us their finishing was utter crap.
I would agree about Mantom being MotM. He totally bossed the first half but, not surprisingly, tired in the second. Honourable mentions should go to Downing and James Chambers who were coolness personified.
I bet that the Peterborough groundsman is not a happy bunny right now.

Been back about half an hour and still trying to get warm, think Johnny Owen pretty much summed it up, middle of the pitch a hippo would be happy to wallow in, mantom and downing for me were top notch, could have nicked it but would have taken a point before hand. On a side note the narrow opening were you go through the turnstile was not only narrow but only about 6ft high, I took a right clump as I received my ticket back!

Windy, wet and cold.
1) We tried to play a bit of football, Posh didnt.
2) Draw a fair result.
3) Bossed the midfield.
4) Purkiss was sexy.
5) Milan needs dropping. He was static for the majority of the game, only moving his arms to complain at Benning.
6) It will be a very close call for the play-offs. More consistent home form please.

Anyone who gets booked for diving in a Walsall shirt should be paraded through town and have rotten tomatos launched at them.

yes but to have the pitch inspection that late after most of the saddlers fans arrived was bizarre it should of been called of after a afternoon inspection

If someone had offered us 4 points from 6 against Peterborough at the start of the season, we'd have all taken it. Solid result last night - just need to beat Crawley next week now.

Indeed. Glad it is at the bezzla so it actually gets played. Crawley are going to need 2 teams the way they are going with how many postponed games they have!!

That's true, but aside from our recent run prior to the MK Dons game, we have been poor at home. Only 16 goals in 14 home games and a -2 goal difference just about sums it up. With a [reputedly] decent striker in now that may begin to change, and Crawley playing a similar style as us should also help next week. Any win will do for me, as after that we have some real toughies coming up.

Happy with that.
Win at home + Point away = Promotion! :D
Oh, no. We've ballsed up part of the equation so far! :(

Agreed - and I certainly don't view next week as an easy game. They could well be in a false position because of games in hand, but ultimately they're in a relegation scrap as things stand. It'll be tough.
We need to start being a bit bolder at home though, and take a few more risks in an attempt to get a few more points on the board.
