Featherstone on for Brandy.....and we have another corner.
McQuilkin on for Sawyers
88th minute, and Peterborough get an equalizer at Leyton Orient ---- now 1-1 and we're out of the play-offs

Missed another penalty, and it was a newcomer, learning the ropes obviously! Sums up the day really...write it off three points from the next game to make up...onwards and upwards

A 3-0 home defeat, a sending off and a missed penalty, all in front of a predictably crap crowd.
That's what being a Walsall fan is all about. I look forward to hearing from those amongst the 3,754 Saddlers there.

Swindon turn it right around at Vale and Peterborough win at Orient with 2 goals in the last 3 or 4 minutes.
Obviously there's ages to go in the season and it's stupid to draw conclusions, but lose at Posh next weekend and the gap is 5 points and Posh have a game in hand.
Lots to happen before the end of the season, but that'l be some mountain....must not lose for me.
All Butler-less as well.

I hope I'm wrong but I think today's games could be a massive turning point in how the season pans out. Peterboro are going to have a massive shot in the arm after their late comeback today and our 3 goal defeat combined with the Butler suspension may well prove costly for us.
However, I have been known to be wrong on the odd occasion so hopefully this will be one of those times!

Horrific day at the office today.
Worst performance since the Lincoln and Scunthorpe games.

Don't think that game could of gone much worse.
- Bad Performance
- Terrible Weather
- Referee's were shocking
- Player sent off
- No defenders on the bench
- Missed a penalty
- Izale McLeod being the cock that he is
- No decisions our way
- RB playing CB, CM playing RB and a CF/CAM playing CM
- MK Dons fans are happy
- I can't feel my toes
- Peterborough winning
- Losing 6th place

Re: MK Dons (H) League One Sat 8th Feb, 3pm
Maybe Walsall got overconfident.
I expect the break made them lose momentum.
Maybe the presence of Ngoo unsettled the spirit somehow.
Too many fans expecting a win.
I agree with a previous poster about this possibly being a crucial point, turning point of the season.
Red card and suspension, a demotivating debut for Ngoo.
Suffer big hammering double defeat to the Dons.
Competitors beginning to raise their game.
I can not see Walsall making the play offs now, way too inconsistent....consistently inconsistent......Win...Draw routine is becoming a lose...draw routine.
Lack of goal power is still the major issue.
a thumping 0 - 3 loss when the team were building confidence, might shatter spirits and confidence.....NOTE this defeat followed another premature judgement by a player...BRANDY...."We would be mid-table in the championship"
Whenever their players/manager make statements about their perceived standard...it comes crashing down. If you want to see the next Walsall defeat....look for an over confident assessment from a player published in the Express and Star....a defeat or tame draw usually follows. They need to learn to take one game at a time and not spout off....just let their football and efforts speak. If they want to say anything, just say "The other team are good, we will try our best."
I don't see the play offs being made now, similar to last season.....I expect between 7th and 10th, probably 8th or 9th.
And I suspect Nnnnnnngoooooooo might be Nnnnnnnooooo gooooood

I'm not going to moan at the lads I struggled to walk from the ground to the car park, so heaven knows how you can play football in that weather. Officials didn't help either.
Just a shame we had to lose to THEM. I thought the days of Izzy Mcloed tormenting us were long over. I thought it was a bad dream from 2006 at times.
Anyway still a long way to go.

Re: MK Dons (H) League One Sat 8th Feb, 3pm
There have been many highs this season but also a lot of lows.when we are good we are very good but when we are bad we are abysmal.
It was game over when Butler went but to be fair we could have been 3 down at that stage anyway.
They bossed the middle of the park today as. Chambers and Mantom were dreadful.
Lalkovic was totally anonymous.
If we are to have any chance at posh I think we need to utilise the loan market and get a decent centre half on loan for a month given Butlers 3 match ban.
Let's put this one down to the atrocious weather conditions that did not suit our game.

They should have a penalty taking policy of only allowing hard driven shots, training drill....keep the ball below the bar....much more reliable method than placing. At leat a driven shot has a chance of rebound or keeper struggling to hold it....also is better to move the ball faster in bad weather as a keeper struggles to lauch off from his feet.
Deano should enforce this.
We have a little guy taking a tame weak penalty, now a big guy taking a tame weak penalty.
Maybe just get the goal keeper to take it and tell him to pretend he is taking a goalkick....but connect with the ball a little higher :)
