Oldham Athletic (H) League One Tue 14 Jan, 7.45pm
The Latics are our visitors on Tuesday for the game that was postponed because of Oldham's involvement in the F.A.Cup at Liverpool. Currently lying in 16th place in the League table on 27 points, their recent form has been nothing to write home about having only won one game in the last seven - and that against 10-man Stevenage. They seem to have a similar problem to ourselves in not being able to score enough goals (27 compared to our 28). Here are the bones of their most recent League games:
14 Dec Brentford (A) Lost 1-0
21 Dec Colchester United (H) Lost 0-2
26 Dec Sheffield United (A) Drew 1-1
29 Dec Coventry City (A) Drew 1-1
1 Jan Shrewsbury Town (H) Lost 1-2
11 Jan Stevenage (H) Won 1-0
On paper it looks like a reasonably easy three points for us, but their draws at Bramall Lane and Sixfields shouldn't go un-noticed....and don't forget it was Oldham who held the Dingles at home in the cup-tie and then had the cheek to win the replay at the custard factory. Manager Lee Johnson has recently signed up four players on loan (Worrall from Rotherham, plus 2 from St.Mirren and 1 from Guiseley), and their leading scorer Rooney has six league goals to his name.
As none of the teams above us is in action on Tuesday we can surely get into the top six though - in fact if we can really go to town and win 4-0 we will go above Peterborough and Rotherham and claim 5th place. Let's go for that, with goals from Lalkovic, Westcarr, Mantom and Butler!!! :D

Surely we can't mess this chance to get into 6 . How many times this season have we had top six spot in our sites and then fluffed our lines.

Yay. Midweek game.
1-0 to Walsall. Too many goals is vulgar and ostentatious
Walsall fans to sing
"You'll do what you're told"
"You'll do what you're told.
'You're Oldham Athletic You'll do what you're told'

This should be a victory especially as we have a full squad to choose from. Can`t remember a season where we have had so many players fit at a time, testament to their training. Now all we need is training to have more shots on target.

I think you'll be over-estimating the crowd by about a 1,000.

I was only thinking myself how few players we've had out injured this season and I think there's more to it than just luck - fair play to the coaching staff.
I'm going for 70% possession but only a very frustrating 1-0 win, with a few squeaky bums in the last ten minutes.

Early pressure from Oldham..... 2 corners, 2 attempts on goal (1 on target) and 58% of the possession. I guess we're still trying to work out how to fit Febian into our play? :?

Shameful that this still happens. With proven technology and a platform that's been operational for years this should be a rarity, not a regular occurrence.
