Carlisle Utd (H) League One Sat 21st Dec 3pm
The Cumbrians are coming to town - we welcome a resurgent Carlisle United, who currently occupy 13th place in the table on 24 points. Since the appointment of Graham Kavanagh as manager in September their form has significantly improved. Don't forget they started the season disastrously, shipping 13 goals in their first three games - fast forward to last Saturday and they won 4-1 against Tranmere Rovers, at a canter by all reports. Carlisle's last six League One games look like this:
Nov 5 Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) DREW 2-2
Nov 16 Crawley (H) DREW 1-1
Nov 23 Rotherham United (A) DREW 0-0
Nov 26 Crewe Alexandra (H) WON 2-1
Nov 30 Swindon Town (A) LOST 3-1
Dec 14 Tranmere Rovers (H) WON 4-1
Much of the improvement can be attributed to the arrival of 8 new players brought in by Kavanagh since September, including teenager Tom Lawrence on loan from Manchester United - he scored twice against Tranmere. However, a recent statement from the club's Managing Director admits that they are now officially "over budget" and that players will have to leave in January - this means that they're all literally playing for their places. Carlisle's finances are also not too wonderful, the last two years have seen losses of £305,392 (June 2012) and £666,257 (June 2013).
As always, if we play the way seen against the likes of Swindon and Peterborough, we can get another 3 points on Saturday. Let's say 3-1, with Sawyers, Westcarr and Butler scoring for us. Lalkovic to have four goals disallowed for offside.

I believe this will be a much harder tie than the league table suggests.
I predict a tight 0-0.
Carlisle have always travelled quite well over the years considering their distance, 5-600.
Overall crowd.....3321.

A narrow 1-0 win, with Westcarr for us, in front of 4,230, including 438 Cumbrians.

We are due to proper smosh someone.
In my heart it will be Saturday. I would love to beat them so bad, Kavanagh's family disown him, and ends up in hovel in the ground in his own filth. Vile creature.
Westcarr will bag the tenth goal in a row, and run past him in slow motion, doing the "SSHHHH" sign which haunts Kavanagh every day of his life.

I think that Craig will have an electrifying performance tomorrow and will have the X-Factor to beat Kavanagh.
Westcarr's life has been pretty good at the Banks's this season and he will get double-figures before Xmas tomorrow.
I think he's been really flying, and all that without the wing-play of Baxendale, Hemmings, Gray, Lalkovic et al since we seem to play fairly narrow with the three central midfielders retaining the ball rather than necessarily playing it forward with purpose or pace.
You could say he's been flying without wings so far:

Crawley have equalised at Orient - now 1-1
Rotherham take the lead at home to Wolves 2-1, so we're back to being 4 points away from the top six :(
