Swindon Town (A) League One Tue Oct 22nd, 7.45pm
It's off to Swindon for a mid-week game that practically qualifies as a "six-pointer". We're only 1 point (and 3 places) below Swindon in the League, but their recent good form sees them with a +9 goal difference compared to our +2. Swindon's last six League One games reveal the following:
14 Sep Wolverhampton Wanderers (a) LOST 3-2
21 Sep Bristol City (h) WON 3-2
28 Sep Preston North End (a) LOST 2-1
5 Oct Tranmere Rovers (h) WON 1-0
12 Oct Rotherham United (a) WON 4-0
18 Oct Notts County (h) WON 2-0
Top scorer so far this season is Dany N'Guessan with 5 to his name, but Messrs Mason and Ranger have 4 goals each so the team poses a threat from various angles. Swindon's manager (their 3rd this year  ) is Mark Cooper. Older members may well remember his father, Terry Cooper of Leeds United fame. Previous men in Swindon's hot seat have been a real mixed bunch, with the likes of Lou Macari, Glenn Hoddle, Osvaldo Ardiles and Danny Wilson rubbing shoulders with Paolo Di Canio and Dennis Wise.
If first-choice goalkeeper Wes Foderingham misses out (he didn't play against Plymouth in the Johnstone's Paint Post Trophy - stomach bug) we will probably see Tyrell Belford in action. Belford was one of the keepers Dean Smith was said to be considering during the close season.
I will be quite happy to come away from the County Ground with a point, but we'll have to have our shooting boots on bearing in mind Swindon's current habit of scoring for fun (think of that 0-4 win at Rotherham)....Let's say a 2-2 score, with Gray and Butler getting ours.

Nile Ranger. Allegedly done more off the pitch than on it. Isn't he due in court soon?

The next hearing in the legal process following the charge of rape will be at Newcastle Crown Court tomorrow (Monday October 21st). His defence team will have to present a statement to corroborate his plea of not guilty, and assuming things go to legal plan after that his next scheduled court appearance will be for the trial, which will be on January 20th 2014.

I'll be there, realised yesterday I haven't missed a game since the lads came back from Trinidad
I will say 1-1, Hemmings for us and Ranger for them.

Realists amongst us will accept we are heading for four mossive defeats and one draw at Crawley in our next five fixtures,
anything better than this would be an indicator that we are not just an average mid table 'also ran', but, looking back at humiliating home defeats to Preston & Bradford, show that we are susceptible to free flowing attacking sides, come on me babbies, prove a moanin old git wrong!....... :D
Great win yesterday, pity it was just a result of illness in the camp of the visitors!!  now we know dow we!

Despite the fact we're generally better away, and against the better sides?
It could go either way, but with the games coming up in the next month, we could either confirm that we are genuine play off contenders, or just have a season of mid table-ness to look forward to..

Ranger has convictions for street robbery, criminal damage, assault and assaulting police, is currently on bail awaiting a rape trial, and recently had his own name prominently tattooed on his face.
I would love us to sign him just to see if Cully would spontaneously combust on hearing the news.

I think we will sneak this tomorrow.
Jamie Vincent will prove Tony 'Dracula' Goddens nickname by beating him to a cross so the Robins go in 1-0 up.
We will score two late goals by Ken Armstrong & George Andrews.
Sending our fans home with a smile and heartened for the Blue Skys awaiting us on Saturday.

Re: Swindon Town (A) League One Tue Oct 22nd, 7.45pm
saddlerphil you are way out on your crowd prediction we are averaging 8k per home game this season.
Both teams like to play football so will be a tight game and with a slippery surface could be a few goals.
Its only a short trip for you lot so would have thought you would have brought a few to us but European games on tv and bad weather will probably leave a few of you at home.
Lets hope its a good game which im sure it will be from a football perspective and as long as my team win it will be even better.
Last home game we beat Notts County 2-0 and a true reflection of the game should have been 5 or 6 someone is going to get a whipping soon with all the chances we are creating be nice if we could do it tonight to get our goal difference up.

Re: Swindon Town (A) League One Tue Oct 22nd, 7.45pm
Judging by their fans, form and fans of teams who have recently played them - Swindon are probably one of the teams in league I'd least rather face at the moment. Specifically away from home, that being said we are unbeaten on the road and have played very well in virtually all the games. I'd fancy us to try and play on the counter which is fine by me as it suits us best. Think we will give it a good go and perhaps get a goal back at 2-0 down for a late point surge.
2-1 Swindon,
Mason and Rangers, Butler with ours.
It's £15 a ticket in the home end tonight, so cheap tickets - not sure on the away end.
9,756 with 121 from Walsall.

Butler will show Ranger what assault really is, in the first minute, and we will go on to win 6-1.
A crowd of 7,956 with no Walsall fans (they're all going to save a tenner by sneaking in the Swindle end). If they consistently break rules, why can't we?

Going tonight but well peed off with £25, swindling gits, gonna have a cack in the sink to get my revenge
Would most definatly take a point tonight (although I've said that for every away game I've been to since my first at Stockport in 1996)

Magic man - So we have three Spurs players on loan and we have signed three two were free transfers and one we paid 400k for but like most L1 fans everyone seems to think we have three on loan from Spurs. I would imagine that is what you are referring to if so you are way out on your comments.

I would imagine he is talking about finances, and about the ticket prices tonight, although I suspect he is well aware that each club can make 4 'home' only offers a season

Yes, assuming you have a Saddlrs Player account, but you need to download the Football League app. Login to Saddlers Player through there.

We've just moved up a place in the table, with Port Vale taking an early lead at Crawley :D
Crewe 0 Stevenage 2
and
Coventry City 1 Leyton Orient 0
it's all happening - except at the County Ground, although we've had 2 corners.
