I care I'm sitting at work in my walsall shirt clock watching I finish at 1.30 then it's a dash from dinglehampton to the bescot my first game of the pre season, first chance to see some of the new signings for me it's any reason to be back at footy I miss being down the bezza.
Plus a win over good ol dirty leeds would be great

Leeds have sold 2,000 tickets haven't they? Nice bit of extra gate money.

Really? I can't see more than 1,000 Saddlers on the day, so they will certainly outnumber us comfortably if that is the case.
Surely 600 or so from Leeds is more realistic?

You may well be right, it just seems a lot for a friendly!

I can't stand Leeds but that really is an incredible level of support for a friendly  .
As Sadders says, a nice little earner for the club.

Only caught the end of the commentary but we sounded impressive. Deserved winners by the sound of it.

1,707 Leeds fans their in a crowd of 3,900. Loathe them or hate them you've got to tip your cap for that following.
Sounds like we played well and could have had more. Look forward to reading more from folk who went.

Re: Leeds (H) Friendly - Saturday 20/07/2013
Just got back from the game and I have to say, i've never been so encouraged by a friendly game before. We made a decent Championship club look extremely average today, our fluidity in our passing, teamwork and movement was a joy to watch and truly deserved the numerous 'sexy football' chants.
Granted it is only a friendly, but Leeds will not be happy today, they'll have players giving it their all to stake a claim for a starting line up next season, so this was not a case of Leeds sitting back and relaxing.
On the players:
O'Donnell- Made a few very smart saves, looks like he will be a great shot stopper, don't want to criticise the lad so early, but a couple of occasions he was a bit slow off his line. On the whole, solid game.
J.Chambers- Looked sharp, love his energy and his attacking work. Really is a useful player to have in the team.
Benning- Solid game, was rarely troubled to a great extent, but dealt with any minor trouble with great composure.
Downing- See above, held a nice partnership with Holden, which is promising if Butler was to get suspended or injured.
Holden- To be fair to Holden, I can't recall him putting a foot wrong in the game, fantastic back up to have in the team at this level, shame he was wearing the number 4 today though, the song doesn't quite go when sang to the number 4 instead of 5 :D
Featherstone- Great composure, clever link up play, love the blokes passing ability and will certainly be keeping Chambers on his toes!
A.Chambers- Played well, the lad just seems to be consistently performing and hopefully he can carry on where he left off last season, he really is a great player to have at this level.
Westcarr- Took his goal very well and looked dangerous in front of goal, glad we finally managed to coup him!
Baxendale- Could really be his season to be honest, rarely gives the ball away and his touch and speed was a great assett for us today, and set up the first goal.
Hemmings- Good game, looked after the ball well and was a tidy passer, would like to see him look to take on a few more players though,
Lalkovic- Showed glimpses of why he is playing for Chelsea, a couple of occasions he showed his class and left their defenders for dead, hope his end product is a bit more clinical though.
All of the subs played their part when they came on and they did well to maintain the shape and general control of the game. Ones to stand out for me where Sawyers, Hewitt and Manotm. Linked up very well and Hewitts work rate could be invaluable for us next season!
Overall, I have to say i'm a very happy saddler today and a nice little atmosphere. As much as I hate Leeds, you can't knock their support, around 2000 fans for a friendly is some going, thank you for the £20,000 from ticket sales Leeds :D very good idea from the club to invite Leeds in my opinion!

Nothing shabby about today's performance at all. Really impressive and entertaining. If you haven't got a season ticket yet, after today I think you'll miss out on some great football.

Nice match report.
Didn't go, but from what I heard, it will cost nearly that to put right the damage their fans did.
