Well it now looks like they will survive, and although it almost makes me choke to say this, Lambert deserves a lot of credit for sticking to his principles and keeping faith with his young players. I can see them going from strength to strength from now on :(

They'll be nothing without Benteke when he is sold in the summer. Even so, I don't think they'll be in a relegation scrap though. This was the chance!

Yep, back to mid table mediocrity, which is probably worse than relegation :D

You could argue that Lambert had no choice but to stick to his principles. Lerner took a mossiv haircut when he swapped his company for Bank of America shares and the Martin O'Neill model of unfettered spending on wages was utterly discredited. The focus on youth is not unlike our own "project" of course. Although, as Sheff will tell you, Lambert still spent £24m this season so it isn't quite the miracle that the kids in replica tops in Sutton Coldfield town centre would have you believe.

Villa survive, proves my point as to what a good manger Lambert is.

I'll await your plaudits for Rafa Benitez when he's secured third place in the Premier League and won the Europa Cup.

The premiership is never going to be won in Poundland. Or £20,000,000poundland. It's hardly a test of team against team when the answer is invariably which club owner is prepared to spunk the most cash up the wall in any given season. Where the fudge is the fun in that?

Honestly, the relegation battle is more fun than watching the usual greedy thieving Scunthorpe at the top of the table. They cost us our future and I will never forget, or forgive that.

It's not quite over yet.
Today's results haven't helped the Vile.
If Wigan happen to win on Tuesday night the last match could be the decider.

Between Vile, Sunderland and Wigan at the moment although Vile look the least likely. :?

Sheff showing himself to be the utter clueless moron most of us believe him to be.

So if Vile manage to escape relegation by the skin of their teeth that makes Lambert a good manager? You what?

Arsenal failing to make the greedy league would be a massive added bonus 8)

Aye. Put into perspective, they're 4 places below Norwich, who spent just over a third of the cash.

Well done, Villa. Good job.

Exactly it does.
As I said earlier, hes just a superb job at Villa, and next season Villa will be top half.

Top half my arse.
The season after next they will lucky to be top half of the Championship. Scum to the core Vile.
