As a kid, admittedly a long long time ago, I could have become a Walsall or a Wolves fan, as my father and elder brother would take me mainly to Fellows Park (we lived in Pleck back then, Mom and Dad - now in mid 80s - still do) and occasionally to Molineux.
Walsall became my club, I guess because in those days I was allowed to go to Fellows Park on my own - you could let young kids out in safety in those days - but Molineux was a bit too far to go when I wasn't accompanied.
So if there was no Walsall FC, I guess, and it is only a guess, I'd end up at Molineux when the mood took me to attend a football match.
I'd say though that it's equally likely I wouldn't bother, because NO club could ever replace MY club, if you get my drift. I think once you've established a link to a club, the bond is too great, it's inexplicable really, but I honestly think there's more chance of changing your wife than there is of changing your football team!
In fact Saigon, this is one hell of a fantastic question to answer with any certainty, it really is such a dilemma. What a great idea for a thread mate. :D

can you add a 'no-one' option?
there's just too much connecting you with your own team to ever switch.
there's no other team in the world where since the age of 4 i used to leave my dad & his mates to go & stand with my much loved & now sadly departed grandad for the 2nd half.
how could another team ever mean ANYTHING to me?

I would not support any other team - it would simply be impossible to do.
In addition. if Walsall moved as far away as MK Dons did from Wimbledon, I would not see that club as Walsall and would not support them.
If I lived back in England I would probably pick the best local match and go to that one as a total neutral (with a strong leaning towards the away team).
