Thanks Coventry - all they had to do was not let a bloody goal in for 3 minutes or so and FOUR points, not two would have been mine. :(
Having bludgeoned Manchester into his humiliating withdrawal, I now have no option but to declare.......................... TOTAL WAR
on this prediction league. :|
Let the massacre commence!

Challenge accepted, generalissimo Saigon. Are you up to the task of beating the one player who has out scored you every year in points per round? I haven't dropped one yet.

You'd be more dangerous if you predicted every game.
Here's me reacting to a particularly bad week of prediction results in 2008.

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Here is the updated table after week 26, today's games. Real frustration for some as with Coventry getting lots of 'Fergie time' and scoring an equaliser in the 8th minute of injury time at Preston it cost the likes of Tinned, myself and Derby 2 points, which would have helped the latter to 5 points and be equal winner this week - it's a cruel game at times! As it was, the man Moussa got yet another goal, helping our weekly winner to be Exile, with 5 points, well done!
This is Exile's 6th weekly win and now puts him joint top in that race with Old Penk. The top two are pulling away now, and are in form, so it will take a great effort to catch them - I know at least one person who is still confident they can!!
With Crawley v Wolves postponed there are a few more asterisks added and some points to be gained at some stage.
I have lopped a few off the table who haven't predicted for 5 weeks or more, so a bunch at the bottom are all green for a week!

I am hurt and frustrated at the inability of teams to match my predictions and make me look like some kind of blundering idiot. I am also dismayed at the points fascism being displayed by predictors currently occupying 1st and 2nd place. Where is the spirit of generosity and fair-play? There is a lot of selfish points hoarding going on and I think some people need to grow up and act sensibly.
Also, my dramatic declaration of total war didn't have quite the impact I was looking for. So I'm going to have to do it again, this time in red and with a portentous video, and hope that things start to behave themselves in an orderly manner.
That's it, it's TOTAL WAR

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Updated table after the weekend's games. Generally good scoring thanks to some predictable results, and no blobs. The winning score was 4 points, achieved by chestersaddler, tinned, Casual D and stig231. Well done to you four!
We now have joint leaders again, with Exile and Old Penk vying for top spot! They have a nice little gap to the next few who are all very tight together. Will they continue to stay nice and clear or is there someone going on a crazy run of scoring form over the next few weeks and going to catch them?!
The thread for Tuesday's games (tomorrow evening!) is up and running, don't forget!

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Here is the table after the midweek games. Bit of a false picture of the scoring as there were a number of postponements, meaning more asterisks beside peoples' names to keep an eye out for over the coming weeks and months. As it is, Aldridge Saddler won the week with an impressive 5 point haul. Well done!
Exile has returned to the top of the table but people beneath have games in hand so there is still lots to play for near the top!
Thread for this Saturday (week 29) is already up.

Could you please desist from expelling everybody below me from the table?
Every time I move up I stay bottom - they can't all have gone into administration! :-)

I haven't lopped anyone off for a few weeks to be honest mate! And when I did, quite a few were from positions above you! You haven't actually moved up as the last 3 weeks you've scored 1 point! Keep the faith though and you'll overtake Flemish soon!

Predicting consistently should be able to get past longdogs.
Past results are no guarantee of future performance. :D

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Updated table after today's games. Slightly false picture again as there were three P-P games, all have which have been added on. There are a number of you with a good few games in hand now!
The winning score was 4 points, achieved by canadian_saddler, derbysaddler, Asps, King Crimson and HKSaddler. Well done to you all!
Next Saturday's fixtures (week 30) will be up from Tuesday evening. There is one P-P game being played on Tuesday too, for the possible benefit of Asps!

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Today was the day of the asterisk!!!
With so many people predicting the games that were postponed, points were few and far between, but there were an abundance of asterisks to add to people's collections. I don't think I can recall so many postponed games to keep an eye out for, even back in the frozen pitches weeks of a couple of seasons ago! SaddlerCrewe won this week with 3 points - well done! Below is the updated table, with a little bit of movement.
There is 1 P-P game this week (Orient v Brizzle) which affects a handful of people so will add points on for that along with next weekend's, when I do it.

Ghastly.
It's hard to believe, but sometimes I think I am maybe not the world's greatest predictor and merely someone normal, subject to the whims and chancery of simple fortune and happenstance.

I just thought I would pop back to see the table - and what do I see? The usual bluster from Saigon as he fails, fails and fails again.
Nice!

Table after today's games. A few asterisks added for the two postponed games.
Generally very good scoring as pretty standard home victories were predicted by a lot of people. But, the winner was Maverick with 5 points, well done!
Not much change in the table, but once more of the p-p games are played in the next month or so, it could get closer again.

Re: Prediction League 1: Table 2013-2014
Updated table after today's games. Pretty low scoring compared to normal with a few results favoured by a lot or predictors not going their way.
The winner was Exile with 4 points, well done mate!
Double celebration for the adopted Kiwi as he is now leading the weekly wins race with 7!
Table is starting to look like a possible 2 horse race, especially when you consider the p-p games that people have in hand, but your never know! There are some p-p games this week, so they will be added along with next weekend's table update.

Update after yesterday's games. Generally good scoring, but the week's winner was derbysaddler with 5 points, well done!
4 p-p games this week, so it will be interesting to see how they affect the table (may do an update after Weds eve, if I get a chance!)

Updated table after today's games, as well as the 4 p-p games that were played in the week. Mixed bag of scoring today - a couple of blobs as well as 4 pointers, but the winning score was 5 points, achieved by Maverick, well done mate!
Not much movement in the table today really, although it is looking a little cleaner without quite so many asterisks. There are still 7-8 p-p games to be played though, so people will be hoping for some points from them!
Week 35 (Tuesday and Wednesday) is up and running - don't miss it!
