He could do a damn sight better than Huddersfield. Mind you, he scored a great goal against them the season before last, his recent performances have no doubt reignited that memory.

Doesn't surprise me that Robins is watching him, given the obvious Coventry connection. Come back £1m and you can have him. It'd be nice to be informed if a new contract offer is on the plate for him and the likelyhood of him accepting that contract. If he puts another couple of years on a contract extension then I'd want a lot more or for him to stay for at least another season, if it's going to come down him leaving at the end of next season for a compensation fee, I'd accept £750k upwards.

I think we have to accept that IF there has already been a bid,then it's more than likely that he will leave, after all money talks very loud at Walsall.
The contentious issue is how much he goes for. As the report says, he's one of the best players outside the top two divisions, therefore the starting price has to be at least a million, no matter how long his contract has to run.
If he goes for that price I can't see many people being against it, as long as Smith is given some of it.
Sold for under a million and Bonser trousers it all.......well it might start all the problems again.

Croft is terrible - slow, over-weight, over-paid and not rated by Derby at all. In fairness, he played well in the cup games (like lofty Matt Smith) but neither showed any league form.

It would be a major backward step to get journeymen players like this.

I like him but lets not get carried away. Over the next ten years or so there will be Ince, Zaha, Sterling, Redmond, McManaman comng into those attacking roles for England, not to mention the established guard of Walcott, Lennon etc.

Plus, physically, Paterson's nowhere near the same league as them. The majority of international footballers these days are big buggers. Paterson ay.

Plus you have to factor in the cost of paying for potential, at only 21 he can develop further, so you add that to any potential transfer fee for him.

I notice that Lee Camp has been released by Norwich. Not sure if we will be able to meet his wage demands but always looked a good keeper every time i have seen him. Surely worth a phone call at least?
