Close - it was "Person Of Restricted Growth"..... Sharpe having a sly dig at Political Correctess displayed by one of the characters. The exact title of the novel escapes me and I can't be bothered to find it - it was something like "Ancestral Vices". One of his good ones, but not quite in the class of his novels set in South Africa in the days of apartheid. He was actually deported from that country for running a "photographic studio" :oops:
