From the beginning all that could be asked is that you have a chance of the title in the last week.

I have. And so do 2 others.....

And Manchester must shuffle about in the stinking dark urine of his own failure, choking back the tears, eating his vomit and bemoaning the fact that I I am the greatest ever predictor!

If you won Slygon it would be a tainted victory & you know why.

Brighton away is all I have to say

just added points for the last pp-game and that means you have to add 1 point for Duke, Whitti, Kevin, canadian, Exile and.... Manchester (on 4th place now).
No other changes in the table.

I'm gone for the rest of the day so don't think i can update the final table already today.

Can I be the first to congratulate Stig231 for a superb victory this season, made even more impressive as it comes on the back of a top place finish last year.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Actually 27 minutes. Like the Wehrmacht before the gates of Moscow in 1941, I could see sunlight glinting off the Kremlin!

19 players for our last week of the season. Highest score: gerryhattrick with 5 points!!!! Congrats!!!! but the most important of course. Two champs last season and one of them is top of the table again, scored 100 points and deserved to be the winner again: stig 231. Congrats again!!!!!! 2nd place for Jolly and Saigon ( i'll try to be faster next season so people can't have their doubts about your points  ).
Thanks again for joining this season, it was all my pleasure even it was hard to be in time with the predictions and update the tables on time. See ya next season and if anybody knows somebody who could sponsor a prize.....

Do I win a prize for being top of the second table?
I am going to ignore the first table and claim the championship.

The true test of football fixture prophecy is of course .............League AND cup footall.

The FA cup prediction competition has, it would appear, been conveniently forgotten by you " always ran, bookies best friends."

However , I carry on , undaunted , upholding the fine traditions of cup football, and predict Chelsea 3 Pompey 0.

And thus.......................only the incompetence of Virgin Media, sometime last October, prevented a unique League and Cup double, by myself.

I thank you :D.

Pah!

Truly the desperate post of another frustrated LOSER.

Oh! Oh! I would have won easily if only I could have been bothered to predict!

What? Was some malignant force preventing computer access?

Given the ridiculous premise of that system, the clear winner is Tyldesley_saddler with an average of 3. Would, could, should, may, might.....

How about DID! :D

There is only one table, so read it and weep losers. I am the clear mortal winner, Stig is clearly in possession of some mystical prediction powers and is probably some kind of prediction league god, so should be excluded from the final reckoning on those grounds. I once thought Manchester the same, but his aura of invincibility has been viciously and repeatedly pricked and he is now just like a deflated, wrinkled green balloon in the corner of a happening party.

Or a gimp.

I have yet to miss a single prediction in over four years, sometimes hacking my way through virgin jungle, fending off dangerous criminals, drug dealers and prostitutes sent by Manchester to prevent yet another successful posting in countries as diverse as Romania, Cambodia, Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Laos, Colombia, Singapore and Cleethorpes.

What amazes me is just how seriously some people take it. It's just a game after all. Get a life!

Prizes are ready.....*

For last year 08/09.

There are two reasons for this:

The first is that I don't want any riff-raff trying their damnedest to collect a rare and excellent prize and reducing my chances of prediction league success, like what I have enjoyed this year (see table above).

The second is that prizes are labour intensive and it was hard to fit them in with work, sex, on-line porn, travel to Malaysia, Thailand and Colombia during the year.

There are 12 and you choose one for that year if you finished in the top 6 (calculated as roughly equivalent to promotion places in League One).

Bart has first choice as prediction master
Stig and Whitti next as joint winners (first come, first served)
I'm sure Manchester cheated his way into the top 6. I'll have to get a list from Bart.....

Photos to be PM'd soon.

*well, almost but not far.

My apologies Kev for not keeping up with the FA Cup prediction thingy I was doing - workload and other commitments took their toll in recent months I'm afraid. When I did get a chance to update the tables after the QF and SF rounds the thread had dropped off the end of page 2 and mods said it couldn't be recovered from anywhere.

I am planning to do it again next year, but from round 1 and will try and keep it going better!

I am also planning to do a similar type thing for the up coming world cup so look out for a thread in the next couple of weeks people to join in!!
