Young Manchester City prospect Reece Wabara is close to signing on a season long loan to League 1 side Walsall, to aid his development after finding chances limited in Manchester. Wabara progressed through the youth set up at Walsall, before moving to Manchester City.

Didnt Wabara get released from City this summer? I read something about him this summer, cant remember tho

No, he got a three year contract extension the Summer before! He was on loan at Ipswich last season, playing six times for them, so I dont see much mileage in this one, as he's already been out at a higher level

It's cool, shrubster71, just a simple case of not knowing. No harm's been done.

To reiterate, anything transfer-related goes in here unless it's actually happened... and you can prove it. :D

"Rumour" is slightly different to "fact". Hence the new thread. Anyway I'll leave you to play amongst yourselves. Keep an eye out a tad later won't ya!

Tell me more about this fact then, if you seem to be 'in the know.'

Ohhhh, far worse than any of that, I'm a tad surprised to see him back in football so soon, for anyone who didn't know, his 17 month old daughter died last month whilst on a family holiday in Lanzarote. Thought he'd take some time off personally.

Oh lovely. So if you're suffering inconsolable grief then you'd best sign for Walsall to get your perspective back!

Wasn't the bad injury three years ago and he was at Rotherham last season? Hardly the normal!

Broke his leg in 2009, so hardly one of those injuries you'd have long term concerns over like cruciate etc... However, he was released by Rochdale at the end of the summer, having been released by Chesterflield prior to that.

Chesterfield fan on the bloke:

Surprised he got a League 1 club but he's a 100% er and won't suffer from a lack of effort. Was at Chesterfield and Rochdale last season but hopefully he wont be a relegation talisman. He's very highly regarded at Chesterfield and was moved on purely to try and shake things up.

Colchester ALWAYS assemble a top team which never fail to hit mid-table or better, despite having similar, if not worse attendances than ourselves.

Got a nice chairman I think?

Portsmouth have Simon Eastwood, Moustapha Dumbuya, Jon Harley, Brian Howard, Simon Gillett, Lloyd Sam, Luke Rodgers and Izale McLeod all on trial with them in Spain.

Pompey can fudge off, and so can their massive embarrassing Scunthorpe of a supporter. Mr. Portsmouth.

One incorrect word I think, they "were" skint, but now "are" not skint... Why? Because for the 3rd time in 3 years, they've wiped off all of their debts and paid people back at pennies in the £... Continual mis-management and they had the nerve to complain about starting this season -10, lucky they didn't get more in my opinion.

No doubt we'll have to put up with arrogance as well, ex-Premiership trash... All of their 'success' and 'history' in the past 5 years, e.g. FA Cup Final and Europe etc, is false in my opinion as it was based on false pretense, just like Rangers.

Agreed. I'd kick them out of the league. No remorse there, smug gets.

nearly but not quite the case as the cva hasnt gone through yet. both the supporters' club bid and portpin's bid are dependent on all the current players being sold. they're down to seven, i think, but won't be able to sign mcleod or anyone else till they've gone. looks like some of them aren't in a hurry to pack their bags, in which case it's oblivion. which is exactly what they deserve.

Not sure whether he's been released or not, but his most recent post on Twitter suggests he's not too happy about something.

The interesting thing about Portsmouth's preseason training camp is that they have left every single contracted senior player behind. The 'Portsmouth' team in Spain is solely made up of trialists and kids. As a statement of intent that shows how desperate they are to rid themselves of players like Tal Ben Haim who still has another year left on his £36,000 a week contract.

It's a game of brinkmanship now, where Pompey will hope that the eight first teamers left will fix themselves up elsewhere - the Spanish training camp is a means to an end, predicated on saving the club rather than a jolly knees up in the sun.

Blimey, didn't realise that... On that note, might even be feasible that the 'trialists' are even paying their own way over there, making it a bit of a cheapo style one. Certainly a way of ostracising players you no longer want, but it didn't bother Ben Haim last season, don't see why another year would, its worth £1.8m gross to him.
