Albert James Aldridge - the second of only two players to have played for the full England team while with Walsall F.C. He played at full-back and was capped against Ireland.
We were playing in the Midland Association in our first season as the merged club, Walsall Town Swifts, in 1888-89. Aldridge played in 15 competition games (plus friendlies) for us.
Wasn't one of the car parks named after him when Bescot Stadium opened?
