Wagstaff and Howe could be decent, it's wages might be the stumbling block with both again. If we have the likes of McQuilkin on trial and keeping last summers signings on the mind, we won't be signing any established names like that. Danny Green is another good winger I'd like us to look at too. Sadly Jack Redshaw is contracted still at Morecambe, he's a name you'l be hearing plenty more about in the next couple of years. Can't understand why we don't look at loan players from the Championship they are obviously there, the likes of Britt Assomalonga proved that last season.

We went one better last season and signed Cuvelier and Johnstone from Premier League clubs. There's no doubt Smith will use the loan market if there's a half decent player available.

Joel Purkiss on trial again? He has posted on twitter that his legs are in bits, as did most of our team on their first day back yesterday - coincidence?

I think not. He left Walsall for Rushall Olympic, last season, before dropping a division and going on loan to Chasetown and then other teams, finishing, I think, at Sheffield FC.

Definitely - it's hilarious. If I worked for the club, I'd be tempted to get mates to don the training kit for a day, just to amuse myself with the speculation that follows.

No need for such elaborate subterfuge. Merely ensure said mates are photographed consuming sausages at the Fryatt Hotel...

Apologies - been writing fancy stuff for clients at work all morning. Was stuck in PR 'fluff' mode.

That better?

Personally (with the obvious Bulls connections), I would go for:

'the fox in the box'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Barkhuizen

and

'the big unit'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathieu_Manset

that Walsall fans have been looking to bring in for some time now...

With Williams, Bowerman, Brandy (and Grigg?) gone, we probably need three new strikers - Joel Purkiss could be the third, maybe?

All are young, hungry and with a point to prove.

Might as well get Peniket too - we could model our 'third kit' on the Hereford home kit, maybe?

Purkiss is a 'pure goalscorer' apparently(admittedly from 2010)! Then again, a lot of people argue whether Paterson is a striker or a midfielder/wide man. I imagine that the same might be said for Joel Purkiss (though I'm clearly no expert on this :P )

Is this Omari Sterling James?

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/oth ... l-9-ts-24/

and, more to the point, who's the geezer with his face mysteriously covered by Andy Taylor's ball?

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/oth ... -10-ts-24/

Buying a player with considerable experience and one international cap bodes very well

By the way, I genuinely don't know how to insert photos so apologies

It is indeed Sterling-James:

BTW - If you right click on an image from the source (i.e. the original page it was hosted on, not from a Google Images search) then select 'copy image location', you can then put it into a post on these here boards if you click on the 'Img' button along the top of the text box, click between the two boxes that appear, then press Ctrl+V on your keyboard.

No. Images must be hosted on an internet site. If you have personal stuff you want to put up then upload file to a share site such as photobucket.com.
