Updated table after week 41. Much better scoring than last week and the winning score was 4 points by The Bosted Slab - well done! A bit of movement in the table which keeps it interesting!
Week 42 is now up and running.

Re: Prediction League 1 2015-16: Intro & Table!
Updated table after Saturday's games. Mixed bag of scoring but the winning score was 3 points, achieved by derbysaddler, Casual D and SaddlerCrewe - well done all 3!
Doesn't move much in the table, and maybe it is a two horse race with 4 prediction weeks to go, but the champions league places are all to play for still!!
Week 43 (TUESDAY EVENING!!) is now up and running.

Really needed that Bradford result, that late goal cost me 2 points. :(
Still, plenty of points left!

Another point added to the gap!
Never mind 2nd place isn't a bad result.

This is more over than a spoilt child screaming 'it's over' before tearing the Monopoly board in half, scattering the pieces across the floor and running into the bathroom weeping uncontrollably*
Just hope it doesn't descend into a grandiose and quite frankly embarrassing gloat-fest.

As if I would ever resort to rubbing my erstwhile opponents noses in the dirt. I would never stoop so low as to repeat what certain other fellow predictors have done in the past. Just wait until the fat lady has finished her last aria

Updated table after the Tuesday evening games (week 43). Seems like a few forgot to predict the midweek games but that helped a few move places. Scoring was generally good and the winning score was 3 points, achieved by Asps, reedswood saddler, Manchester Saddler, Casual D and me! Well done to all of us!

Is it too late for me to join in? I'm sure the Almighty and Graciously Magnificent Saigon could lend me a few points.

Re: Prediction League 1 2015-16: Intro & Table!
Next updated table after yesterday's games. Reasonable scoring again and the winning score was 3 points, achieved by derbysaddler, Manchester saddler, Welsh_Saddler and Morty - well done to the 4 of you!
With that win, it puts Welsh_Saddler top of the weekly wins table with 9, closely followed by 3 people on 8 wins, so still all to play for in the final couple of weeks.
Saddla may think the title is sewn up with 2 weeks to go but you never know what a couple of 5 or 6 pointers could do for Saigon and Welsh!

Re: Prediction League 1 2015-16: Intro & Table!
Updated table after the penultimate week of this season's prediction league. Mixed bag of points but the winning score was 4 points, achieved by Donnington Saddler - well done!
Not a great deal of movement but, as you can see, there is still a glimmer of hope that Saigon can retain his title and overtake Saddla at the top. Saigon needs to score a difference of 5 more points than saddla as, in the event of tied points, he would win due to more weekly wins (8 versus saddla's 7). Welsh saddler currently leads this on 9.
It may seem a slim chance but as the cliche goes, it is over till the fat lady sings!
*PS: If you two want to PM your predictions so there can be no accusations of waiting to copy each other etc, then feel free, and I will post the predictions Sunday morning before heading to Burslem!*
The final prediction is now up and running so pull up your socks for one last effort and then we can all put our flip flops on for the summer!

Well, I'm within 6 points of top place in the final week which is always my aim, so I was thinking of recording three 0-0 predictions so I could be top for at least a few minutes! :D
Well done to Saddla on a super season though. Let's hope the lads can be as convincing in their game today!

Congrats to Saddla, convincing winner by my count. My 4th is awkward, but I made the podium on the points per round countback!
Next year I might predict every round, although I doubt I'd have made up the nine point differential.
Unusually, nobody broke the 2 points per round barrier this season, so it must have been difficult all round.

As my name is not MPSaddler, I would like to pay my £40 (as promised - see page 1 of this thread) to the winner, SADDLA.
If he/she would be so kind as to pm me with his/her preferred method of settlement I shall duly cough up!!
Congratulations, by the way (he said, through gritted teeth...........)

Re: Prediction League 1 2015-16: Intro & Table!
Apologies that it has taken so long but here is the final table from the Prediction League for this season.
The points scored on week 46 was pretty good and there were no blobs! The winning score was 4 point, achieved by Exile - well done! It hasn't changed much position-wise in the table but a bit of movement for a few.
After leading the table for a lot of weeks through the season, the eventual winner for the 2015-16 is saddla - well done on a great season's predicting. Following close behind in the 'champions league places' are the usual prediction league suspects and they pushed saddla all the way!
The weekly winner's table was topped by Welsh Saddler with 9 weekly wins - well done.
Hope you have all enjoyed it this season - enjoy a summer off and some sport with another size ball!
We'll come back in August and do it again! :D

Thanks JJ for running a great competition.
Someone had to show Saigon how it should be done!
Seriously, Saigon and Welsh gave e some scares along the way!
I'll be back next season! Thanks again JJ. I appreciate the amount of work that goes in to running this thing.

Thanks JJ. Really enjoy this competition. For the first time ever the top positions are also true to their 'points per round'!
Look forward to next season.
Congrats, saddla. Disappointed I gave you no scares along the way :(

Re: Prediction League 1 2015-16: Intro & Table!
Firstly, hearty congrats to Saddla for recording a richly deserved triumph - I did briefly challenge around the new year, but he steamed through between January and March and always looked good value after that stage. How many correct scores?! :( :D
Thanks again to Jolly Johnny for another superb administration of the league. It's sometimes a ball-ache to get the league up and accurate in a timely manner but he's been consistent all season long, as usual.
Not a bad season for me, have to be happy with 2nd and put up a decent defence of the title. Always quite an achievement to finish above the usual consistent players - Exile, Welsh, JJ, Casual, Donnington, Derby, Morty to name a few. And Manchester. :D
Maximus tailed off a bit day he ... :D
Saddla has very generously decided to give the 60 quid prize fund I offered up to Belgian's charity, so I will be contacting the man himself and arranging for that to be sent across. Top marks!
Cheers each!
See you next season.

Even if I'd have predicted all 46 weeks still wouldn't have caught the top 4! :(
Never mind - always next year where I can try to turn weekly wins into better average scores.
Thanks to JJ for running this - appreciated. :D
