A bit unlucky with the goal but weak challenges on Nouble allowed him the opportunity in the first place.

For what it's worth, 67% possession for us so far. Not that we've done much with it.

1 nil is 1 nil...
but from the game I'm watching we are passing them off the park, just final third (again)

It's all just safe passing in the middle of the pitch.
Really need two out and out strikers up there so yes this might be a game where Baka can actually do something.

On one occasion, Oztumer was the deepest sitting midfielder, bringing the ball out deep in the Newport half. Conversely, Adam Chambers has been caught offside. Sums that half up.
Guthrie is an absolute carthorse.
Newport have got nothing.

This sums it up by the BBC.
HALF-TIME
Newport County 1-0 Walsall
There's the half-time whistle and League Two Newport County lead.
League One Walsall will presumably start to display some urgency at some stage in the second half... Maybe.

At the moment they look like the away team, just soaking up Walsall's possession.

Crikey, that was bad.
We've completely run out of ideas - and sadly did so a season ago.

Re: Newport County (A) F.A.Cup Nov 4th, 5.15pm
1-0 halftime and very little urgency or creativity from us, barely a shot of any description, let alone one on target. We're controlling the ball reasonably well, but not threatening at all. Newport look pretty one dimensional, but then that's League Two for you.
If we play on the deck and increase the tempo a bit we might sneak a draw, but we need a presence in the box first.

Re: Newport County (A) F.A.Cup Nov 4th, 5.15pm
This is terrible, we obviously have a better quality of squad, but we have no idea what to do about attack, when you consider it was left to Chambers as the attack threat just before half time. This just sucks, you can see this has defeat written all over it. We pass sideways/backwards relentlessly, then hoof it to non existent forwards, we have all the possession but couldn't score if Newport (Or Creswarard or whatever they call themselves in Welsh) were all to have a tea and cakes session on the half way line.
When will this misery end? Might end soon for Whitneyland if this does end in a defeat.

Re: Newport County (A) F.A.Cup Nov 4th, 5.15pm
Pretty but pointless passing. Given that Roberts is playing mostly as an attacking midfielder and that Ozzie has been shite today, we've created bugger all. On the two occasions that we managed to get a good attacking ball into the box, we didnt have a single player near enough to attack it. Sideways, sideways, then lose it. Are the wingers playing? And it was Donellann that was even more at fault than Guthrie for the lack of challenge. Newport are shite - but they've still got enough to beat a team selected by fudge. If they score a second, the 5000 viewers (and 1million sheep) watching will soon be treated to yet more calls for the head of our tactical genius.

There were touches of quality from Roberts and Ozzy.
Problem is the ball takes so long to be passed to them Newport defenders can have a puff of cigars and then get 4-5 of them back round Roberts.
Need much more from the two wide players...if they make the second half.

Take ismail off, baka on for 2 up front and play 4132 to run and get more to stick up top.
Edit: 2-0 now, no challenges, they walked through us. Guthrie didn't even stick out a leg.
Rubbish. Ian sharps should hand in his letter along with Whitney

I have not seen Walsall play for a long time but after this display it looks like being a long time before I watch them again. Has`nt anyone taught them how to defend or to break a team down. Embarrassing.
