Indeed, shades of that great Gillingham comeback years ago, but time is running out.

All over. Thriller. Even at 3 down we looked unphased and not out of the game. Great draw.

just got back in I'm emotionally drained

I don't think ive ever been to a match that wed lost then come back to 3-3 and I'm walking out of ground feeling like weve lost it.

Roberts is awesome and if this isn't an advertisement to play 2 up front at home then I don't know what is.

were not going to win the leagie or trouble the play offs but with passion and spirit like today then I may change my mind about us going down.

Wow what a fudgin rollercoaster ride that was  i was just about to walk out after their third went in, after getting into a stand up argument with a young fan in front of me because i shouted that their second goal was pathetic, which i thought it was. I am sure it must have been optimistic because he told me to cheer the team on and encourage them not deride them, the bloody young upstart  I have got pants older than him  Any way i tried it and it seems to have worked :D . can't remember when i have seen such calm and such patience from a walsall team, Tyler was a breath of fresh air when he came on, he changed the game and is a class act, i was shouting for Baka to be subbed because 0f his inept performance, he did chase a few balls down but seemed to come alive after Tyler was bought on. we should have pinched it in the end and i feel a bit miffed that we didn't win in the end.

On one of the main Bantams message boards they are currently on page 20 ...... and the vast majority of opinions are extremely negative!! :D

Great stuff, need a lie down after that.

In fairness I thought the first half was o.k but lacking any sort of killer instinct in the final third, Morris had his best game for a while but missed an easy chance on half time.

Can't say I thought much for this new great defence. All three Bradford goals were very cheap to give away especially the second where I think Wilson missed the header. Bradford really didn't have to work hard for the goals though.

Great comeback though. 3 Headers from three crosses. Long throw ins aswell. It won't be to everyone's taste but we've seen plenty of teams have good seasons at this level just pumping in crosses all the time and having athletic players getting on the end of them.

Don't see why 3-5-2 can't be properly tried, Ozzy was still getting on the ball with two strikers on the pitch.

Would just like to add, I don't think i have ever seen so many first time balls played into the opposing box as i did today, it put real pressure on Bradford's defence :D

THAT was bloody AWESOME!

We played well all game, and as soon as we got a goal back Bradford seemed to be gulping air. Didn't want it did they? Happy with the draw but we could have actually won it as Bradford had nothing to offer.

Bloody brilliant!!!

Most entertaining 45 minutes I have seen in a while.

Think Devlin may succeed Jim McMorran as my favourite Scottish dirty maestro.

Fantastic second half that.

Today highlighted many things -

Bakayoko needs someone playing next to him. Rubbish until Roberts (who looks superb) came on.

Bakayoko can't jump.

Morris has gone too far backwards to start another game. Rubbish. His influence on games is nothing but negative. We were twice the team with him off the pitch. Harsh but true.

Whitney made the right change, just a shame he didn't do it at half time.

Edwards and Chambers are vital.

Devlin is my hero.

We really should have won it. I think we're one attacking signing away from a top half team, even with Whitney in charge.

Really enjoying this season so far

I don't know why and neither did anyone around me, but you always got the feeling we were not going to lose.

Still work in progress and a bit of a box of chocolates but positives were the wing backs again and of course Tyler Roberts will give us some teeth

Credit though to Whitney

Firstly for the best celebration in the stadium when the third went in no-one wanted it more than him

Secondly for the energy levels of the players. The last 20 minutes we pressed well and the Bradford players looked like they required oxygen. It was 28 degrees on the car and we only made one sub compared to the opposition changes

The fans were ace as well, 3-0 down and we were defiant.

As soon as the goal went in, the Bradford players visibly wilted and by the second they could sense it was going wrong. We just exploded and I thought we had a real effect on the Bradford composure. 3-3 seemed inevitable and I couldn't shout by that point.

Still can't speak ... :D

A game we should have won on chances created, shots on target and possession BUT a game we could have lost without our tremendous fighting spirit. I enjoyed the game immensely and there are the makings of a very good side in my opinion. Bradford's first goal was a great breakaway goal but the other 2 were gifts...poor defending from crosses however we came back well and scored 3 very good goals,
One irritation we gave away too many free kicks in dangerous positions one of which led to their 3rd goal but that aside I cannot wait for next week although I recognise we will be weakened by international calls involving Donnellan and Roberts.

Their first goal was a terrific piece of super quick, attacking football and even at 2-0 they looked a threat but I didn't feel we were outplayed at all. Even after going 3-0 down, the players looked unphased and we still seem to be in the game, which may sound bizarre if you weren't there. I still believed we could get something out of the game but didn't think we'd dominate the second half as much as we did.

Thoroughly deserved a point and we could have won but I'd take that point bearing in mind the deficit we had to make up.

Great spirit and good to see the players warmly applauding the fans after the final whistle. The feeling was mutual.

Quite a lot of boo-ing from the disgruntled West Yorkshire folk at the end. 3-0 and they fudged it up.

Well, well, well. And we all thought it'd be a boring season

Some bad points are that our defense isn't that solid. It might of looked that way against last year's lowest scorers but letting in 3 goals today speaks volumes. Two were individual mistakes so maybe it was just a bad day but we really need to start keeping clean sheets. Baka was his usual Jekyll and Hyde self, often disinterested (not wanting to contest headers and not chasing down etc) and then sometimes being unplayable. Morris was a bit below average and really needs some intensive one-on-one shooting practise. For someone who likes to pull the trigger so much you'd expect much better end product.

Anyway, positives are that we never let our heads drop, even 3-0 down. It shows there's some strong attitudes and spirit in the squad and you get the feeling that we won't be out competed or bullied much this season. Both fullbacks were incredible, especially Leahy today, we honestly don't need wingers with them (and I doubt we'd find wingers who were better at going forward anyway). Roberts already at his age is a class above and I'm sure he'll only get better. The two up front seemed very dangerous so maybe that's a tactic we can use at home now. Chambers and Edwards might not be the most creative pairing but the industry they produce more than makes up for it. Fans were excellent and really were the 12th man today, maybe JW is onto something when he talks about Fortress Bank's's's's. More importantly, you won't find a better 90 minutes of entertainment,it'll live long in the memory :D

Also, for all the stick JW gets about being a physio (and the pre-season training camp), we looked so much fitter than the Bantams today. Lots of energy even past the 90th minute when they seemed to be blowing out their arses around the 70th minute.

What a game! We didn't deserve to be 3-0 down, I thought Bradford generally had the bounce of the ball, especially for their second goal. After that, we played some great football, full of purpose and wonderful spirit. We did to Bradford what they have done to us on many occasions: we battered them and they wilted under the pressure. Saying that, Bradford are a good side: their number 9 (Chris Wyke) held the ball up really well and their Number 17 was very good too - I can't believe they took him off after an hour.

Nicky Devlin is my new hero: he will run through brick walls for us and he never stopped working the referee. I thought Edwards was very good too and Tyler Roberts looks a very good addition. We must play 3-4-1-2 from now on: let's attack teams. We need 2 up front with Ozzie in the hole. BTW, I didn't think Ozzie played that well today: his set piece delivery was poor and he didn't do that much in open play. Well done boys, and well done Whitney - we're getting there.

If any of the players are reading this I would just like to say that was the most fun I have had down the Bescott in a long time :D :D :D :D

An emotional roller coaster of epic proportions and looking down at my little girl with both her fingers crossed hoping for a 3rd just made my day. Think I would actually have exploded if that last chance from Devlin had gone in. Well done Walsall (fans and players), we never gave up and showed what fight and determination can do. Very very proud Saddler tonight.

More of the same please gentlemen (just glad I don't have a heart condition!!!)

P.S. Message to JW ........ Baka n Roberts look quite tasty up front together. Fudge Jackson off and free up some wages !!

As others have said, this was a game that we deserved to win. They had 6 scoring chances and scored with the first 3. In contrast, we must have had nigh on 15 chances but until near the end, we missed them (I think Morris will have nightmares about his blunder!). What was remarkable about our goals is that they were all headers!!! We are, after all, one of the weakest teams in the air in League One. Bradford showed all their cheating little ways, niggling fouls, time-wasting, kicking the ball away, etc but, as said above, we were clearly the fitter team at the end as the Bantams wilted. Maybe boot camps are useful, after all!

Terry Lobster made a promising début, living up to the pre-match hype and he took his goal well. I hope he starts the next game. Amadou was his usual enigmatic self but, on balance, he made an important contribution, often out-muscling Bradford players. It made a change for us not to be bullied by them.

It looks like the players will have next Saturday off because of International call-ups. Unfortunately the games are after the transfer deadline so Jackson can't earn a transfer with another sparkling international performance.

Due to holidays, my first chance to see us this season so I'll give my thoughts on things. I'll start with the new boys.
Gillespie - didn't have much of a chance with the goals, made a couple of easy saves in the first half. Distribution and kicking was excellent.
Devlin - Poor first touch, looked awkward on the ball. Some good forward runs into the box second half. I'm not as convinced as some on here, but I'll give him a few more games.
Wilson, Guthrie and Donnellan - looked solid, should have done better on the first and second goals. Particularly on the first when they failed to challenge the midfielder dribbling through.
Leahy - I thought his performance highlighted Devlin's weaknesses, composed on the ball and took his goal well and a great cross for Roberts goal. Always dangerous when coming forward. Great to see that we have a long throw specialist now as well.
Roberts - Took his goal well and helped turn the game. An intelligent footballer who I think will link up well with Ozzy.
Chambers - Don't know what he is on, but I want some! A typical Chambers performance.
Edwards - played well, busy and gets stuck in - little creativity though.
Morris - Should have scored (how did he miss!?) He wouldn't get near the team if we had another decent midfielder.
Otzumer - worked hard, but on a different thought level to most of the team. Will link up well with Roberts.
Bakayoko - poor first touch and some of his passing was awful. Only really perked up when Roberts came on. I want him to do well but I'm still not convinced.

If I was JW I'd play a 3-5-2 with Edwards and Chambers as holding midfielders and play Ozzy behind Roberts and Baka. If we sign this Jordan Archer he may prove himself to be a better option than Baka.
