5 minutes plus added time to go - hang on lads...... (even though the kitchen sink is currently being thrown at us)

86 minutes, and Portsmouth's first yellow card

5 minutes injury time.

I assume some of the bookings were from time wasting?

All 5 for fouls.

Draw 1-1 Would settle for a point but for the referee. :!:

1-1 at full time - which is, realistically, a good away result under the circumstances. Well done me babbies !!!!

Definitely would have taken a point before kick off. Pleased with that.

Yep good point for me. Pompey will be difficult to beat at Fratton Park this season.

Apparently Baka missed a great one-on-one chance before the penalty so to me it really shows the need to get a decent striker in before the window closes.

Will be the difference between a comfortable mid table season and a real relegation scrap as in fairness the defence seems in good nick.

Shouldn't have been a penalty according to the commentators.

Well chuffed with that point although not pleased to hear about homer refs (unless we are at home  ).
Maybe, just maybe, this season will not be quite as bad as some feared (although it's not likely to meet the hopes of anyone, especially the highly optimistic, non-cognoscenti like me  )

But it could be so much better if we showed some ambition for once and spent some decent dollar on a good striker, like Hanson.....but it ain't gonna happen. So, we'll have to make do with trying to achieve mid-table mediocrity as usual. Where's the Makris money gone?

Interesting comment on a Pompey message board ... "Lalkovic was shite in League 2, and guess what? He's shite in League 1"

Just seen the goals and how the pen was won. It does look a clumsy challenge from the angle of the camera and can see why it was given. Gillespie may have got a slight touch on the ball but certainly took the man too.

I thought we were a lot better today than at Bury. We fought hard and were a more cohesive unit. It was never a penalty and Baka should have scored before that from a great pass from Oztumer. We got caught out a few times by simple balls over the top but these only led to half chances. We also created some good chances ourselves. Baka got stuck in a bit more up front. Today's performance reminded me of Joe Royle's Everton 'Dogs of War' team. We certainly didn't get shoved around, stood up for ourselves (4 bookings proves this) and proved a threat at corners.
Edwards was MOTM for me and looked a lot better in midfield with Chambers. I liked his little chat with Pitman just before the penalty. He just edged Leahy, who impressed me more as a wing back rather than a conventional left-back.

Good performance at a tough ground with a very easily influenced referee, both wing backs were fantastic and so was Edwards. Only poor performers for me were Morris and Bakayoko, but both worked very hard and did their defensive jobs well.

Didn't think it was a penalty when I saw it in real life, but having looked on the highlights I can see why the referee gave it, even though I still disagree with it.

First, I know Portsmouth played in Premier League not so long ago and I remember bell sound, when TV showed some matches with them. Today that sound returned, so nothing new it seems. And the game, well, I missed a draw, cause I've seen win, loss, but draw? Absent. So now I can jokingly say "This concludes the equipment demonstration". Defence was once again pretty solid and it probably will be good later. This is sorted I would say. I liked high pressing, near Portsmouth penalty area. That was nice and clearly disrupted their play. Time will tell if it was one time tactical wonder, or some tactical preparations before every game. I know what would help. Better ref, cause this one was too nervous and his card was itching. Sometimes he showed it too soon and it could have some impact to the play. But point is a point.

Two things I take from today:-

-Merseyside to Portsmouth and back again is a lot of driving in one day.

- If the first 13 stay fit we'll be OK. No great, but not as awful as some of us feared either.

Enjoyed Fratton Park.

Thought we played some good stuff.

There was the first "Jon Whitney's barmy army" chant of the season. And he deserved that support because the last two games have been good.

Goodnight.

Gillespie probably shouldn't have been at the scene of the crime in the first place.

Yes! I can't remember now how likely it looked that he would get a shot away but I bet he was chuffed to bits when he saw it was the keeper tackling him and not the defender!

Exactly!!!

Very poor goalkeeping. I don't think it was a penalty but he made the referee make a decision and at Fratton Park it's more than likely going to be in their favour.

A point away from home is always good and in front of large crowd and against a team on a high after promotion even better.

Unable to attend yesterday so result will enable me to see first away win of year at bristol.

Looked solid again and should have enough physicality to cope with the league

Bakayoko put a shift in and deserved to put the chance away on effort but will just need to keep working hard you certainly saw how hard bakayoko worked their defenders when he went off as Jackson gave them a breather

A couple of players short of an above average league one side but a couple of injuries may see us struggle

Can't complain about Whitney though so far

This team is messin with my head? we were quite good at Bury and i didn't think we deserved to lose, because i think that for all the money they have spent they looked pretty poor. And that has shown with their results so far. Against oldham we not only deserved to win we should have slaughtered them second half, Against portsmouth i think we should have won. This team that JW has assembled is about 3 players short of a top 6 side at the moment, i just hope that the club can see that, and invest wisely over the next few months
