All got a bit messy, a bit quickly.
Can you imagine if the Met Police had gone in as hard in Scotland. Jumping two-footed onto a prone voter. It'd be full scale war.
I think Madrid have messed up big time here, expect a new country - at some point.

Re: Catalonia
The Northern Ireland police and troops were just as violent with the Irish separatists, back in the 1980s and 1990s.

There may be a difference in the majority of N.I. want(s) want(ed) to remain, whereas up to 90% of Catalans wish to leave.

Re: Catalonia
Arsene Wenger was asked about Barca joining the Premier League - he said well, what about Rangers and Celtic?
Personally I think if it ever came about, they should start at the bottom.... so we get to see them on their way up.... while we stay mid-table division 3 as ever....

Re: Catalonia
Puts to bed the SNP lie that Spain wouldn't veto independent Scotland joining the EU.

Re: Catalonia
Does anyone know why the Catalonians fly the flag of st George ? I heard from someone that it dates back hundreds of years to when they were fighting the Spanish and we were supposed to help them out with English fighters? But either we didn't turn up or we couldn't get there in time but they still recognise the fact that we were prepared to help them? And that is why they still have it in the Barcelona badge? Someone will either come along and rubbish that theory or give some insight

There you go Chunkster.
St George is also the patron Saint of Barcelona known as Sant Jordi.
