Off to Crete on Saturday, so some match previews are open for anyone with a functioning keyboard to elaborate on the bare bones I'll set up......
On the health front - some of our members with long memories may recall that a little over 2 years ago I said that I was being referred to the Cochlear Implant centre in Bridgend for assessment, as my hearing aids were more ornamental than useful. Well, the moment appears to have arrived, and not a moment too soon - I've been given a date for Surgery of Wednesday October 11th. The device will be implanted that day, and then I'll be totally deaf for 4 weeks (nothing new there) until the processor is activated by the Hospital Audiologist. After that it's a question of re-educating what little brain I have into getting used to the new miscellany of sounds that I should be receiving. More news to follow, just to bore you, or at least to take your mind off things like Rotherham......
Holidays and health.....

Re: Holidays and health.....
Brief update - operation successful (according to the surgeon, who took 5 hours over it!) and now home feeling very "washed-up" largely due to the long-lasting after effects of the anaesthetic and the extremely strong painkiller (Tramadol) shoved into my i/v line when unconscious.
The surgeon says I have to "take it easy", and all the advice on the internet forums from people who have been through it is "sleep, sleep, sleep" - and I'm very happy to oblige.
Now let's sort Blackpool out.......... :D

Take your time with your recovery Welsh. I have had a relatively recent anaesthetic and tramadol and it does knock you about. Allow yourself to be waited on hand and foot !! Best wishes.
