Was he the one whose hotel was only 11 miles from Fratton Park?

Re: Daveysaddler
This has made national news, but I think it's exaggerated.OK, he didn't realise he was on an island, but what was the actual effect? How long is the ferry ride? 30/40 minutes? You could easily stay that far away along the coast. A game at Portsmouth, Southampton or Bournemouth would actually be a good time to visit the IOW.

Agree with this. If you see his tweets you can tell its fake. Apparently there is some truth that a Walsall fan did book a place on the IOW but it ain't this bloke. Dunno how he's got the balls to pretend its all real.....

Definitely isn't him. Rumour is that it did happen, so that much is true, however the guy that did it said he didn't want a big fuss being made out of it.

Reminds me of the stories that used to hit the Canadian Press every few years of the unsuspecting European tourist who booked a flight to Sydney and instead of ending up in Sydney, New South Wales arrived in Sydney, Nova Scotia usually in the middle of February.

Had he got his car the Ferry alone would cost him 150-200 quid so I am unsure about the reliability surrounding this story.

Great plug for the Matty Fryatt Hotel at the end there!
