When I read you bluster this is all I see.

Can the MODS do something emphatic and robust about these needy and outrageous series of Manchester's 'look at me' !!! posts?

Another crap season for Manchester. I vaguely recall having one of those about 12 or 13 years ago.

Grow up a bit and stop cluttering up the prediction threads with your boring nonsense!

:D

I admit it - you can't. So many crap seasons for you, my perverted friend - so many ...

:D

This season is going to be another one for you - impossible to reach the unattainable and absurd levels your ego thinks it can achieve.

Don't worry - if you want to pour your heart out to me in a PM - please feel free to do so.

I can laugh at you in private as well as in public.

Manchester, dear, dear Manchester,

Where do I begin?

I think firstly an acknowledgement for the magnanimous and enlightened gesture of Swampy Saddler for his sporting indulgence. What a pity you, Cully and Exile can't learn from a gentleman of his calibre, and have again allowed the jaundiced spectre of jealousy and envy to cloud your judgement in this matter. :(

You speak of poor seasons. I'm struggling to find where I have slipped below my own incredibly high, disproportionately exceptional standards. In the last five seasons, that's two FIRST places, a brace of SECOND'S and a singular THIRD.

One acknowledges that it's impossible to WIN every single time (something that you have the luxury of knowing nothing about), as individual predictors enjoy a spectacular success for a solitary season. But who is ALWAYS THERE? Who lingers ominously around the trophy cabinet? Who peers through the windows into the ballroom of victory? Who is the predictor everyone fears in the last ten games, desperately wondering if they have secured enough points to cling on to their position, awaiting the surge of magnificence? Awaiting the induction of points into the womb of destiny?

It's not you. It's ME. It's ALWAYS ME.

Not a single prediction week ever missed.
TWO triumphs.
Countless 2nd places.
Loads of Third places (still medals)
Some 4ths
One 5th
One 17th - it was a weird one.

It's a good job my unique interstellar brilliance is matched only by my astonishingly spectacular humility.

I pity you and your crappiness, which must be absolutely bloody awful.

I am Brilliant, quite utterly Brilliant. FACT.

This season is undoubtedly unusual. Accordingly, it should be discounted as an outlier in the grand scheme of things. Clearly, the rule of random averages is at play, which is why a guileless flunk like Saigon can achieve points where better, more experienced, players have struggled in the face of blind fate.

Onwards, ever onwards, to next season. At least I’m in the top 20.

Fair play, that's pretty nice. Seven for myself and starting to nibble at top spot, but JJ is hitting form again. Getting interesting up there now.

Updated table for the first of the Easter weekend games (Thurs - Sat).
Some excellent scoring and lots of 3s plus some 4s but the winning score was a fantastic 5 points, achieved by Manchester Saddler. I'm sure all of us, along with Saigon, would like to congratulate you on the fine points tally!

There has been a bit if movement in the table as a result and a late surge from someone in the final weeks isn't out of the question!
The table for part 2 of the Easter games will be along shortly.

Here is the updated table from the 2nd set of Easter games (week 39)
Lots of good scoring again (and some BLATANT plagiarism!! :x  ) which meant some changes in the places again!
The winning score was 5 points again, achieved by Saddla and me - well done to us both! Although, I am referring this result to the sports governing body as there is a clear case of Saddla just copying my predictions verbatim and therefore I propose he loses all 5 points. I await their verdict and will let you all know the outcome!

This result has brought about a change at the top of the table, if only in that Morty now has someone joining him ( :D ) after such a long spell riding a lone furrow. At least 5 weeks left plus all the p-p games to account for, so all to play for in the prediction league.

Updated table from the weekend and some solid scoring again.
The winning score was 4 points, achieved by addo, itasaddler and Saigon Saddler- well done to all of you!

Not much movement in the table this week but, with 7 p-p games coming up over the next 3 weeks or so, there is a chance for some real movement for those with an * or two by their name!

Updated table after last weekend as well as the p-p game this evening between Wigan and Oxford.
Terrible scoring last weekend due to some unexpected results from the big boys so there were only 6 that scored any points! The winning score was 3 points, achieved by itasaddler and Cully - well done to the both of you!

Quick question - what happened to Swampy's Eight billion games in hand? As it stands it looks like even if he manages to wring maximum points out of his remaining pair, he'll still be a point behind. Please confirm.

Also, what happens if JJ manages to win this league and become the first person to successfully defend a title? Quick note - I came 2nd and 3rd when defending my TWO titles. Am I still the world's best predictor or does this change? If this does change where does Morty live? How big is his letter box? Is it wide enough to take the rotten turnip that an unidentified miscreant with squeeze into it? Will he be awake at the three in the morning? Will he be able to hear the muted scream of betrayal coming from a Silver Vauxhall Astra CDi with a running engine parked a few yards down the road?

Where's Saddla?

Where's Manchester?

Where's Exile?

Hope Welsh is back soon.

Latest updated table after the weekend games as well as the p-p games played last night, where a few points were accrued!
The winning score was 3 points, achieved by Exile, Saigon Saddler and saddla - well done you three!

A bit of movement in the table and it is pretty tight behind the top 3, who have a nice little gap on the rest now.
Two prediction weeks left plus the p-p games next Tuesday so see what you can do in these final weeks!

Nice to see the usual quality predictors make their customary late surge through the pack of drooling plebiscites.

I'm referring to ME, naturally, but it would be remiss if I didn't tip my hat to JJ and Saddla while I'm here.

Good, I'm very, very pleased with myself. :D :D :D
THIRD. And I'm not winning it or coming 2nd then that's a fantastic result.

In terms of the grand plan, well I've got more chance of finishing second than Morty has of regaining pole position. No offence.

If it hadn't been for my slow start, weak pre, mid and post Xmas performance and difficult Easter period, then I might only be half a dozen or so points adrift.

Just to finish, that's my enormous fat arse blotting out the sunshine of your prediction league joy you talentless bastards.

No.

No experience of this whatsoever. Every waking moment is a highly socialised and joyful journey through a shared achievement of back-slapping praise and acknowledgement.

It's NOT a painful and achingly lonely trudge of self loathing to cover a paper thin, broken personality and wounded ego. Not this. That's important.
