Some old timer in the crowd gets a towel thrown by Jack Sock .
Now the Guardian and Andy Murray's old lady are giving him some right stick for denying the kid behind him this treasured souveneir.
I think the kid deserves a slapping for trying to muscle in :D :D :D :D :D

It's a sweaty towel, from common stock, that has been held by the player for a minute or two. Why would anyone want it?

Re: Towel Gate........ ( Wimbledon )
 reminds me of a night a few years ago at a nightclub venue in west bromwich called kings, we went to watch the drifters and it was pretty much the original line up. at the end of the show the whole audience got up to give them a standing ovation. me and my wife were at the front and one of the drifters leaned over to kiss my wife, and he was very sweaty, she was horrified and swiftly wiped her face in disgust. the look on his face was painful :lol:Exile wrote:It's a sweaty towel, from common stock, that has been held by the player for a minute or two. The thing about this, is that I've never heard of Jack Sock and yet he's the 17th seed?
Proves how shite tennis is, and most summer sport
Bring on August 5th!

Yeah, tennis is really weak at the minute
I don't think I said it was weak, I said it was "shite" as in what's the point of it?
But, as you have mentioned the "quality" of the players involved, I would suggest that having a 35 year old as favourite to win the title, that probably means tennis is weak at the moment?
But then again, that's only my opinion

Ah I see, Roger Federer, probably the greatest player of all time, who's favorite surface in grass court tennis, being the favorite is a sign of weakness. 35 is hardly a grand old age and considering the two finalists from last year (30 and 25) and 2 former world number ones (30 and 31) are in that field I just listed it's hardly a nailed on favorite in a "shite field".

I wasn't quoting you I was answering your point? I mean, forgive me for getting your point mixed up to begin with (although I thought it was the one you were trying to make considering "but what is the point of tennis?" is a pretty dumb question on a site dedicated to a sports team) but you went a head and made that point anyway? That the field must be weak, or shite, or whatever, because it's headed by a 35 year old, no?
Edit: Hold on a minute, it was you that was upset with the use of the word "weak" rather than "shite" to begin with, now you are upset with the word "shite" rather than "weak"?! Haha
