Just what villa need if a serious attempt to return to their right full place is what they want.

Feels like signing 'a name' rather than an exciting talent. He's been a bit rubbish for Chelsea in the 5 minutes per game he's been allowed in the past few years.
Maybe they've signed him for his leadership skills which it seems like they need.

It seems like he has been tempted by the likelihood of progressing up the managerial ladder.
Still, he has to start at the bottom I guess.

More than likely just signed a name to appease fans and make it look like they are serious about promotionyoda wrote:Feels like signing 'a name' rather than an exciting talent. He's been a bit rubbish for Chelsea in the 5 minutes per game he's been allowed in the past few years.

Still a better chance than the tragedy that was Merson.

Risky one for me. He'll be on big money and if his legs have gone he will get found out in the Championship. Won't have the luxury of playing in a three either with top defenders (and Gary Cahill) and you have to wonder why no Prem team made a serious attempt to get him.

Apparently, he turned down more lucrative offers from Premier League teams. (So he says.)

Poor Signing in my opinion , I mean what will he be on 60k per week ?
I think Harry Redknapp hit the nail on the head when he said he chose not to pursue the deal for Blues , as he now has the opportunity to sign 3-4 quality Championship players for the price of Terry alone.

Still..... might give us some extra coin when all the rubberneckers come to see him at our place preseason. I remember the place being packed when Roy Keane turned up for a jog.

 Merson. what a joke of a manager he was. probably the only time in Bonser's reign he appointed someone from the heart rather than the head.Exile wrote:chunkster wrote:More than likely just signed a name to appease fans and make it look like they are serious about promotionyoda wrote:Feels like signing 'a name' rather than an exciting talent.
