I think we have just found our new manager :mrgreen:Welsh_Saddler wrote:JW might as well bring on a couple of substitutes......nothing (literally) to lose at this stage!!! Cuvelier and Morris, perhaps? Or even a triple substitution with Bakayoko added to the mix......

Seems utterly obvious too, that putting kids on, even in a non event match like today was a huge mistake.
What a miserable end to the season. Will JW survive this appalling run? I have my doubts that Uncle Jeff will tolerate this sort of embarrassing mess. Can WE tolerate another season of this turgid crud? I think Jon will have his answer at the end of the match, from the fans at least.

1-3 ............ (82 minutes, courtesy of our Turkish Messi) - too little, too late!
(Edit ... so of course, straight after, it becomes 1-4 :( :( :( )

Wee have actually scored a goal..........crikey, the wonders of science eh? The Dongs will HAVE to get a fourth, when we get battered at home it's always 1-4, it's the law.
What did I say!!! what a shambles of a manager/squad, not looking forward to next season unless we can find ourselves a manager capable of getting some resilience and quality from our players.

JW was recorded as saying that he wanted the team to end the season with a bang .... not sure that this is what he intended though.

Agreed, there are always some who will put a positive side to this shambles of a season's end.
I must admit, I would find it hard to find any positives from the last few humiliations.

Please make good progress towards another job as a physio, and leave management to those who know what they are doing. Please Jon, fall on your sword, do us all a favour mate.

What a shambles...
Again we looked lost as a team and without any doubt we gave gone backwards by some margin.. how anyone could possibly defend what is happening at our club is beyond me...
Without direction, tactics or even a plan. Clueless from top to bottom in terms of management of our playing resources..
I've no doubt that another 5 games would have seen us relegated - absolutely without a fight too..
The problem now seems so be that JW sticks the young guys in as either a show of support for them or even out of necessity but frankly then realises he's ballsed it up and removes them - again a clueless and pointless exercise when in a team that's on the slide as ours is.. most managers would give youngsters their chances when things are either stable or going relatively well... But not JW, oh no... he does it when we are on our last legs and his experienced players don't want to be part of his shambolic experiments..
What a joke - I've never been so pleased to be at the end of the season..

Some on here will ALWAYS find positives from humiliating surrenders like the last three games. how, I fail to see, but they will, guaranteed. :?

No progress. A positive consolidation with a reasonable end would have represented a good season after the loss of the players at the end of least year. The reconstruction needed this summer might be greater still, but we've a manager who seemingly doesnt know how to struture a squad, set out a team or to define how he wants them to play. Makes you think of the tactics/TicTacs joke used on Merscum.
Whitney out (but I'd guarantee it wont happen). A grim season next year beckons. It was truly awful today. fudge glad the season is over.

One win in ten games (and I saw that win!) is hardly progress. Let's just hope we don't start next season in the same manner.

There is a dead easy way to measure our progress. We played a mid table side at home on the opening day of the season and we played a mid-table side at home on the last day of the season.
I keep reading about a traumatic summer last year so obviously the trauma would have been at its sharpest last August on that opening day and not after over fifty first team games where the manager could have imposed his style, philosophy and method.
So - compare and contrast the opening day and today, and explain the "progress" if you can.
You can't. It is impossible because we've gone backwards so far and so quickly under this manager it is painful.
I like him. I hope he sticks around in the role at the club he excels at. But for heavens sake he and the club need to take a great big honesty pill and realise he just isn't a football manager.

Worst performance for a long time awful, gutless, unambitous and without passion. Roberts was an embarrassment , put him out on loan and say come back when you've put on a stonne in muscle. Rico he ain't.
I would never ever boo a Walsall team , I was tempted today though and left with 5 to go.
Glad this season is over.

When some say it was the worst performance for a long while they are obviously forgetting Vale/ Cov/ Swindon and the second half at Salop.
Under the guidance of Whitney it is clear to see that we will be the whiping boys of the division next season.
Fans will not put up with those kinds of performances and will vote with their feet. Today's atmosphere was unsurprisingly the worst for a long while.
Thank god that's over with. Over to you WFC to find us a decent manager who can bring in a few decent players and give us some entertainment.
If I were JB I wouldn't trust Whitney with another penny of my money.

Re: M K Dons (H) Sunday 30 Apr, 12 noon
I advocated playing the youngsters but we were awful today. The playing of Roberts on the right side of our defence was strange. Where was Preston? probably the wrong thread but I think we all assumed he would be with us next year .Perhaps not!!! Roberts had a fine game Tuesday but to play him out of position in just his 4th game was crazy. I also wonder whether we are expecting too much of Candlin? At 16 he clearly isn't ready yet...indeed John Ward writing in the programme states he hadn't yet played 90 minutes for the under 21s!
Perhaps today we should have played Jackson,Osbourne and Moussa....certainly we would have competed better but I suppose they have no future here so what was the point. Clearly those 3 need replacing with better players...the big questions are can we find them? if we do can we pay them? and have we got the Manager to blend them into a team? An interesting Summer awaits.

Having just read Whitney's post match comments I'm quite frankly disgusted.
He's blaming the players entirely for this latest debacle!
Nothing to do with your rubbish team selection/ crap formation or awful tactics then Jon?

Saw fans protesting to Bonser in the oap today asking for Whitney out so if fans in this area are getting vocal and animated I would say he has lost the crowd
Judging by the report in e&s he has lost the players
Is there any way back for the manager or has the situation become too toxic?
I think he is a cheap option that bonser will keep him and be thankful that the season has ended and it will all Calm down again in a week or so.
Another summer rebuild and a race to 50 points to look forward to.
