With two-thirds of the game gone, the stats make depressing reading:

Dangerous attacks: Rochdale 34 Walsall 9
Corners: Rochdale 8 Walsall 1
Shots on target: Rochdale 6 Walsall 0

:(

More good news......we've passed the ball to their keeper which technically counts as a shot on target :D

Gotta feel sorry for the hardy Saddlers that have made the trip up there to watch the crap being dealt out tonight - I hope JW doesn't try to grasp any positives from this mess!

Bad result. Bad month. You lot must be having particular bad weeks, did everyone just expect our October form (4 wins, 2 draws) to continue right through to the end of the season? Are you all missing Dean Smith who most of you wanted to crucify too...

This isn't what being patient looks like, Whitney is one of our own. Treat him with some respect...

Our results in October were excellent, but our form, in the sense of the quality of our play, was mediocre. There were serious and very obvious problems in our formation, our central attack and our central defence. Despite this, and thanks to a combination of good fortune and fine individual performances by players including Oztumer and Etheridge we put together a string of good results. That should not have fooled anyone, but unfortunately it did.

It's not the result that JW needs to explain its the stats....

No shots on target

1 corner

35% possession

Not a single thing in there to be positive about so waffle won't wash this time Jon

35% possession.
2 shots.
None on target
4-0 defeat.

Not great.

That said, a time for not losing our heads. From what I've seen this season we've got enough about us to be decent mid table.

Many were clamouring for JW and his passion when we had S'OD in charge. It could come good. Give him a chance, at least til Xmas.

I think witneys lucj has finally ran out

weve not played well all season but somehow scraped some home wins and a few away points without being spectacular.
we must have one of the worst defence in this league and an erratic goalie albeit a good stop shopper goes on walkabouts far too often.
some senior pros must scratch their heads that they cant get a game and we have a club record bench warmer who will not score a goal all season.

the luck has run out in the league were out of all the cups and we cant bring any new players in.
next time they advertise half season tickets at bescot maybe we all fall on floor laughing

we bring in an unknown cheap option coach who has the personality of a brick and concede 6 in 3 days in his tenure.

I'm trying to be upbeat but can someone tell me what can change to make me feel better about life

The club should stop the players quoting the press....

after tonight I reckon McCarthy will be regretting his statement that we will bounce straight back from saturdays result and 'we will be going there for all 3 points' - what an embarrassment!!!

Concentrate on training lads!!!

Nothing says one-sided like 4-0...

Having listened to WM even I as an optimist felt that was awful...none of our midfield seemed to play at all. A dreadful performance which we cannot afford to repeat on Saturday . The statistics don't lie as far as this match goes...we must do better. My biggest concern is that there appeared to be little fight in the team.....I can put up with the odd bad performance(we all do!) but lack of fight is not acceptable.

I'd like to agree Super but frankly 6 points from the last 18 ain't encouraging.... it's classic struggle territory with an odd win and a few draws then a couple of poor shows.. doesn't bode well I'm afraid..

Well that was a hammering! I expect changes for Saturday (Bakayoko and O'Connor in) that perhaps we should have had tonight. No disgrace in losing to a decent side (they beat us 3-0 at home last season and hammered us 4-0 the year before that) but the scoreline and nature of the defeat is worrying. I look forward to hearing how bad it was from the people who were there.

Well that sounded dismal.

Really couldn't believe it when I heard the team was unchanged...was going to post that at 7.30pm but my laptop crashed so it's not a case of being wise after the event.

I would've given starts to J O'C, Osbourne and Baka just to freshen things up...the defence is too young, could've given Chambers a breather and Jackson is a non-entity atm.

Would expect those changes at least for Saturday...there has to be a response as after that it's Sheffield and Fleetwood away who are both on fire at home and then Bradford who don't lose many.
