Ah, happy days! :D I remember those results well as I was there!!! :D . I, too, can't remember when it was exactly but I'm sure it was before I went off to university so it was before October 1961 (although in those days I came home for a few weekends, usually to coincide with Walsall's home games...). I still think it was 1959 - 60 but no doubt some Statto can put me right. I do remember sometime while I was at university (the first time) near the end of the season we beat Liverpool 2 - 0 away, rather unexpectedly (obviously). I think that was 1962 or 63.
God, it seems so long ago :(

Well, that was subtle, Kev. Welsh has aged about four years, overnight.

That all happened in 1956.


Many thanks Kevlar! I have now bothered to look it up - it was on 15th December 1956, and the result was 7-1. We had lost the corresponding away fixture 1-0 in the August, which just goes to show that the contrary nature of a Walsall team is nothing new.
