Anyone else get a Hyundai advert instead of Gerrard scoring? I was angrier than Rob Greens mum must be for having ever given birth to him!

Yup, I was watching on the big un in the den with the babbee when the advert came on. At the same time I heard a big roar coming from the telly in the kitchen where the missus was cooking

It'll never happen, committees are useless when it comes to deciding what bus you're going to catch. Anyway, you'll be sick and dying after I've poisened your wells, burnt your crops and hidden your wholemeal yoghurt bars.

Thankfully the host of my World Cup party aint got HD and neither have we if I were at home. I hear that all the TV's went off in Bra Sport just as USA scored - and stayed off, so there's a good portion of unhappy people from there too I guess.

And then to cap it off they turned the hd signal off and used the normal standard feed. Wow. And as for bra sport i'd expect nothing better if its true. 10 pound ha ha ha ha ha

It's just a bit too up itself for my liking. Nowt wrong with my picture on the old 32 incher with freeview. I don't see the point in any extra cost to make it a little bit more clear. I have decent vision already. I've only seen HD things impress me once when I watched 30 days of night on a Blu-ray.

ITV have previous in knocking the wrong button.

I watch little telly apart from news and sport. IMO HD is excellent. I do not pay the tenner a month to Sky because I don't use it enough, but as I am set up for HD, I can watch terrestrial HD for nowt.

I do agree, however, with others - ITV should not be allowed to touch the World Cup. They should stick to whatever they normally transmit - probably dross.

Is it? Whenever I have had access to it, I can see the crowd more and the scoreboard better.

I don't want to see the crowd (especially in Liverpool) and I could read numbers just fine in the 1990 World Cup so I don't need new technology to fix that.

It maybe great but it just seems an awful faff to me. And I doe like faff.

Kinda know what you mean, there's probably just enough arty tart in me to see a sport super-slowmo in HD and go "wow". Given that a football match itself might only contain 1 or 2 "wow" moments, if the production of the coverage adds another 2 or 3 "wows" then it's worth the effort.

Yeah, we know what we mean. That kind of thing never really impresses me. I would love the TV companies to spend more on insightful pundits and people who knew what they were talking about. A bit like the complete opposite of Andy Townsend really, rather than fangled telly.

HD looks no difference to me!
I was at a pub where half the tvs were ahead of other.. annoying to say the least. I didnt realise until the 2nd time why people were reacting to chances 2 seconds faster than me!

It is good, but not worth the price you have to pay for it at the moment.

ITVS coverage is dreadful anyway.

It's not the slow mo that is annoying, it's the amount of replays. Twice is enough, not 6-7 times from all different angles which means the game has restarted and is going on whilst the replays are showing onscreen.

Rest assured it had nothing to do with 8-1 odds with paddypower that there be an advert interruption during play.

Have to agree, I don't need to see loads of slow motion dross with players faces wobbling about like jelly.

ITV's coverage of sport has always been quite poor.
