Wilcot scores a screamer for number 2

This is a better England than the Sky one :P

And Rooney makes it three!!!

Bad news is Joe Cole has a rather large gash

Amazingly we will be the first team to beat Croatia in a competative game on their home turf!

He's still better than Lampard.

England were brilliant tonight, we would have beaten them if they had 12 men never mind 10. Rooney was back to his best in the second half and the unsung hero once again was Heskey - Croatia just couldn't cope with him. Under McClown we were well beaten - twice - by that lot: look how much Capello can change in such a short space of time. Should shut up the idiotic London press who were writing us off after a friendly draw against the Czechs. We looked a proper team, with passing and everything, and I look forward to seeing us develop in the run-up to the World Cup finals. We will be there.

Well done, Capello. He didn't pick the best eleven, he picked the best team (although the Gerrard/Lampard decision was forced on him by circumstances). Let's never here any of this rubbish about Heskey and Rooney not scoring goals again, either, as they proved why they are the best combination, as they make the chances for the others to take advantage of.

Thing is, Rooney drops so deep, it's useless having a defoe, owen or agboglahor up there because they simply wont get anywhere near the ball. Heskey on the other hand, can play the target man role well and his size and strength make him a nuisance.

I'd agree about Gerrard and Lampard also, they obviously can't play in the same team, I'd still pick Gerrard over Lamps anyday though.

So would I, for his drive alone.

Setanta paid a lot of money for the rights to the Croatian FA. It's up to them what they do with them...Free market. Pay you get, don't pay yow dow.

Exactly. They overpaid for those rights, and if nobody can meet their valuation of the replay highlight package, then that's it - game over, and those with council house telly don't get to see it.
