To bring Lampard in you would have lose on of our wingers which seems totally un-necessary.
Keep Lampard out. 442 everytime - Barry and Gerrard are doing fine.

Barry may cover left back if Ashley Cole is out. I'm guessing Lampard will start on wednedsay , Wright-Phillips will miss out .

It is nonsense though isn't it. I couldn't believe they were talking about that on the TV on saturday. Why on earth would you move arguably our best player in the last 3 games. It isn't like Barry is even any good at left back, he has never really been considered there in the past.
I'm not really fussed if Lampard plays, he could shift Gerrard out to the right if needs be for the one game, but to change the whole shape of the team because one player, a left back at that is injured is stupid
Although the thought of Phil Neville playing may just sway me to change my mind. The bloke is a fraud for making a living out of the game! He should never have played for England again after "that" incident against romania.
Shorey in for Cole, same as saturday for me. Rooney can become an extra body in midfield when we dont have the ball

Or his brother. (Sorry Gaz, couldn't resist it. :) )
I would put Shorey in for Cole. Hasn't done a bad job defensively so far. Saturday was the first time I have seen Lescott 'live' and he looked off the pace and worryingly immobile. Might have been debut nerves, but I wouldn't risk him in such a big game.

I agree to be honest. Lescott hardly filled me with confidence saturday either
Lescott is not international quality in his normal position, neveralone in a different one.
So why did we put Phil Neville in the squad?
Not as if I rate him, but at least he has played left back for his team and country.
Have to agree with Blazing and Sheff, its a big ask for him to play only his second international appearance out of position in such an important game, however Wolves fans tell me he as played left back for them , but this is hardly championship football.
There lies the problem :D
Am off to work, so not gonna be able to watch it
