Thank God its over;

No more dire displays
No more clueless plodding
No more attack free football
No more poor skill levels
No more Erickson
No more hype
I'm afraid to say it...No more England

Lets watch the real footballing teams now..

Lets face it to watch England at this World Cup has been just like watching Meson's Walsall last season.

At least the clown has gone

Sat Jul 01, 2006 5:42 pm

...5 years in charge - or is it 6. £20m plus of FA money. And nothing achieved that a middle-weight englishman couldn't have done for 100k a year - was it the Argentina boss who was on 100k a year?

Take a look amidst the disappointment of Upthesaddlers from years gone by:
http://www.upthesaddlers.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=5

The clown has gone, finally. A man tactically bereft. A man motivated by his wallet and his privates rather than any instinctive tactical reading of the game.

And in his place welcome Steve Mclaren... for whom the jury is well and truly out.

Well done Sven . you did a great job of sitting on the bench not looking interested. Making a great sub of taking Lennon off and bringing a defender on. Also taking a school boy on extra work experience to germany for so long and letting him train with the so called world class players

As for Stevie Mac need to give him time. He has to get rid of the cack players and bring some new one in

Cant see mclaren being any different really...or i think we would have heard from different sauces that they disagreed on certain fundamental tactics or their approach to training...but there is just a defening silence on those particular topics.

Well done Owen Hargreaves . You proved me and many many other fans wrong. MOTM by far today

As for Ronaldo doubt we will see him in the Prem again next season. He will be the mosted hated man every in english football. If rooney does not kick the cack out of him, i feel a member of the public will

Pedro dead right. Hargreaves superb. The only one who scored his penalty as well.
And as mentioned above, Ronaldo cannot play in this country again - one suspects Fergie will be on the phone to kick him out.

The sending-off was for the tamest handbags I've ever seen. Never in 1000000 years was that a red card. Ref also missed that Lennon tackle in the box, which looked like a penalty to me. Bloody Argie ref.

That aside, thought we had a good game & could (should) have taken the chances. I'm not sorry to see the back of Svennis, but who else thinks Maclaren will get a run of friendlies with players missing before being dumped in favour of Scolari?

Sick of us getting the ball and having to turn backwards because there's no-one there. Only way we'll score is from a set piece I reckon.

plonker hargreaves?

you're one of these small minded people who see hargreaves given 15 minutes at the end of countless friendlies (often out of position) and then decide he's rubbish, so single him out for criticism at every opportunity. it f***s me off soo much

there's a reason he starts week in week out for bayern munich, one of the great european teams. and he showed us all why it is that sven (for all his faults, and there's sooo many of them) continues to take him. he hassles, he irritates, he's got so much energy, he's everywhere.. even after 120 minutes of non stop running, he still scored a penalty (unlike our big name stars who all failed to impress throughout). he plays in germany, so hes good technically.

england fans don't get to see the best of owen, as he's not on tv every week. well i hope you've all seen what a good player he is today

My main hope is to see someone break that cheating fool Ronaldo's leg in the Prem next season, or preferably in the next game. I take little pleasue in feeling this way, but he truly is the absolute pits of a footballer when it comes to sportsmanship, although in fairness to him, most of his Portugal colleagues aren't far behind in the play-acting stakes

Nice to see him winking after he'd been instrumental in getting Rooney sent off after, as Leamore quite rightly says, the Argie Ref had allowed several challenges on Wayne to go unpunished.

Please God, let them get stuffed in the semi-final, I just can't stand the thought of watching their antics in the Final !

Ah well. At least it's the end of Sven.

This is the best set of players England have had for so long... but they couldn't produce anything together. You can only blame the manager for that. The worrying thing is that McLaren might just be more of the same (or maybe worse, based on his record of "achievements" compared with Sven's when he took the job).

Today, the back four played well, Hargreaves was outstanding - but the two "world class" midfielders, especially Lampard, were piss poor again.

Oh, and I fully agree with Brum about Hargeaves too, awesome game today and at last in this World Cup has been given time out there on the pitch to show the true qualities that make him so important to Bayern Munich.

Instead of taking Cole of the tosser should have took Fat frank Off. We only started to play again when Crough and Lennon came on.

To many so call big players did not perform at all in the WC. With Tosser changing the formation every game , we could not keep a settled team,

But least Theo Walcott had a nice holiday . when we need goals the like of Bent,Defoe and Johnson where on their own holidays .

Im very angry

Sorry, Exile, but Rooney stamped on the guy's goolies (just a pity it wasn't that snivelling little sh*t, Ronaldo) and that most definitely IS a sending-off offence. Didn't the Scouse thicko realise that Ronaldo would have told his Portugese team-mates about his (Rooney's) suspect temperament?

The tackle on Lennon was a good one and was NOT a penalty.

Two plus points:-
1) Ferguson will be even angrier now he will HAVE to sell Ronaldo who surely will not be able to show his smarmy little face in this country again. If he did actually return, I'd love to be at the ManUre training ground when he "bumps" into Rooney again! :D
2) It's goodbye and good riddance to the Swedish serial shagger!

I cant see how the Ronaldo can stay at manure now. Firstly remember the hate campaign against Beckham 8 years ago whenever he played for manure after being sent off against Argentina? Ronaldo would get at least the same and more some. The cry aby would not be able to handle that.

Secondly, I cant see Messrs Rooney, Neville, and Ferinand saying hiya mate when they all report back to Old Trafford for training. Sir Alex might have major problems and some thinking to do

Lampard and Gerrard are two world class players - FACT

So what made them both so rubbish over the last month?

Could it be the realization that the squad picked and tactics used were not going to get us anywhere?

Most of our players showed no belief during this world cup - need to find out why or it will just keep happening

I'VE NEVER HATED A PLAYER SO MUCH - AROGANT PIECE OF ........

Let' s hope he is off to Real Madrid but not before Rooney chins him one!!

Time for England to remove the dead wood, Sven already gone hopefully followed by our "captain"

Come on Steve, let's see football from England again and sort out who will partner Carrick/Hargreaves in midfiled, Lampard or Gerrard but not both. Let's see some pace on the wings and let's see the ball passed through the midfield instead of hoofed upfield like a League 2 side (except Walsall of course)

Nope, I judged him on what I saw, which was tripe. Fouls conceded, passes astray etc etc etc...

I can see there's quite a few saying how well he did, so fair play to him, he must've improved significantly on his first 30 minutes worth of effort (which is when I turned the telly off).

Oh, and I singled him out because he was in the position that I considered unnecessary. Another up front was what we needed, not a defensive midfielder.
