Magnificent. Could have been 7+. Proud.

Burton got one more point over 46 games. They deserved it - end of.

If we play with the same energy in the playoffs, our opponents will be shitting it. Proud to be a saddler today, magnificent support even when we knew the dream wasn't going to happen.

Amazing atmosphere today from the lads, shame the same can't be said for Vale's stewarding, absolute crush trying to watch the first few minutes until they removed the netting just before the first goal!

Hopefully we can continue this performance into the play offs, absolutely destroyed them.

Just got in. Absolutely superb performance. If we can play like that over the next 3 games then we WILL go up.

Oh & I wish whoever started the rumour about Donny scoring ( otherwise why would everyone start cheering for no apparent reason?) could be strung up by a part of his anatomy that causes maximum pain ... especially if it's the same person who didthe same thing at the Rotherham game years ago.

The second false cheer in the last ten minutes was started by a lad by us. I don't know how he managed it but it looked as if he was making a genuine mistake by the look on his face afterwards.
The good thing about today was that both celebrations were cut down quickly.

I remember the Rotherham one sweeping round the ground for quite a while...

Oh and about the match - absolutely superb. If we had to miss out on automatic then that performance was the right way to go about it.

Barnsley on saturday it is!

What a game!
Did our bit, shame about Donny.
Fair play to the Vale fans who stuck around at the end.
Play like that in the playoffs and we'll be fine :)

Sketchy as fudge walking past that vine inn boozer after the game. They were all out waiting for Walsall fans to pass by, well up for it. Proper home pub. Ain't keen on us lot at all

Horrendous place for an away fan, not a place to run your mouth if you can't back it up...but that's how you want it I suppose!

Rough ain't it lol.

Proper place for a football ground though. Plenty of pubs all fairly populated and close to the ground. Sumat bescot lacks massively

I don't think there were that many in that smallish beer garden

Funny watching Brummie desperately trying to get One Step Beyond started. He must've tried near on 10 times

I don't think any team could have done more than the Saddlers did today. I really think Donny would have beaten a Burton side who were well below their best and looking ultra-nervous, but for that bizarre situation with two injured players having to leave the game after the three substitutes had been used. I'm getting on a bit I know, but I can't think of any other example of this happening - a team down to nine players without sendings-off - since substitutes were first introduced. I suppose such a disadvantage, on this vital last day of the season, could only happen to the detriment of the Saddlers, and Burton can regard themselves as very fortunate with how things worked out for them today.

At least we are going into the play-offs on a high, so fingers crossed that we can continue this brilliant form into next week to see off Barnsley, and to the final at Wembley.

Probably because most astute managers keep at least one sub back until towards the end of the game.

But , oh no ........... not his nibs.

Well done, the Mighty Saddlers! Brilliant. :D
Fergie is a venker! Fergie is a venker!
Yes, Fergie is a right Crown and Anchor.
Mind you, I think Bruton would of (sic) held out for their miserable little point anyway (sound of my toys being ejected from pram and sour grapes being ingested  )
Still, what a great way to just miss out; Bruton would've been bricking it betimes.
Never mind, it's been a great season :D and I fancy another trip to Wembley. We CAN do it - we're twice the team we were when getting stuffed (er, twice  ) by Bristle Chitty last season.
Onwards and, let us pray, upwards.

Had to drive slowly past this due to slow moving traffic it was like driving through the safari park

Whitney has motivated them in last 3games by describing them as quarter final , semi final and today was the final - wonder how he moves to the next game

Couldn't beat that performance hope they can repeat it

You see them given for that all the time. I think the ref is right though.
