Agreed, but on the other hand Crewe Alexandra were down and out this morning (as were Bolton Wanderers), but sometimes that situation results in the pressure being off (said he, clutching at straws!!).

It's the gulf in teams, the difference between Crewe and Donny isn't as vast as Donny and Burton for example, that is reflected in league positions and points.

You see to me it's not just the three results that need to come up, it's having to overturn the GD aswell. Two 1 nil wins for Walsall and Donny winning 1 nil wouldn't be enough for example, would still be 2 goals short.

That gives the scale of the task. Believe me if it had played out a draw and Walsall cut the gap to 1 point I'd have been fully up for it going into next week.

That's, probably, the only way that Ferguson may be granted a stay of execution.

Even if we do beat Fleetwood, there is the small matter of beating Port Vale. We have only won twice in our last 12 encounters with them.

Then we need Doncaster to beat Burton. We also need to have improved our goal difference by 4 in the two games.

It could happen. It probably won't.

Here's another scenario:

If we beat Fleetwood by 6 goals, this would give Doncaster a glimmer of hope. They would 'only' have to beat Burton by 5 goals to overtake Fleetwood, if Fleetwood lose to Crewe. And if Blackpool don't win, Doncaster stay up.

We would still need to beat Vale, though. 1-0 would do.

I think if we are going to beat Fleetwood by 6 goals then why not go for 8,9, or 10? Let's face it our record win (against Darwen 10-0) has stood for 117 years. Quite honestly that seems long enough to me & records are there to be broken so Walsall 11 Fleetwood 0!

Of course having done this we will then go on & lose 1 nil at Port Vale

Put money on all that and if it comes off you can buy out Bonser.

I obviously intend to do that!
Just worried that after appointing Sallian to a top executive position that Yorkshire White Rose flags will be draped around the stadium with 'Hullsaddler Out' on them. I obviously will have the miscreants ejected and dealt with most severely but not sure I could handle all the grief!

Just hoping ( as a minimum) that we finish within 5 points of Burton & in the top 3 then I stand to win £230 for my annual £10 bet

It's all possible

Walsall 2 V 0 Cod Army

Doncaster 2 v 0 Burton

Nothing says for Donny to win they have to stay up

Vale 1 V 2 Walsall

Were up - simple , it will happen Chris Cairns told me

For the 2nd goal, eIther the Gillingham goalie is fouled or he is incapable of catching what looks like a routine cross.

He just misjudged it really, starting position was a bit off.

Would've been a brave ref to disallow the goal at that point.

looking at the reaction of some of the doncaster fans singing "you'r not fit to wear the shirt", i don't think the players will bust a gut to beat burton next week :(

Back to possibilities.

We only need to win by 3 goals tomorrow, and Sunday becomes a simple case of 'we win, they lose, we go up.'

Much easier to get your head around. Over to you, JW.
