I'd like to see us go 4-3-1-2

Etheridge
Demetriou
O'Connor
Preston
Henry
Chambers (holding)
Morris
Mantom
Sawyers
Bradshaw
Hiwula

Mantom and Morris shoot on site and Jordi / Tom be reactive and hungry.

It is:

Etheridge

Demetriou O'Connor Downing Henry

Chambers

Morris Sawyer Forde

Milan Bradshaw

I think.

Subs: McGilv, Preston, Taylor, Mantom, Kinsella, Cook, Hiwula.

Really like the intentions of that XI, so well done Whitney - whether we win or lose 4-0, that side looks positive on paper and we, for sure, won't die wondering. I was thinking that it may be Forde next to Chambers as a second central midfielder? Thank god Morris and Milan are starting at home, just like they did under Smith.

Whitney showing he has a pair of bollocks dropping Mantom and Taylor out, leaving Henry and swapping Forde to a central position. Mantom has been unbearably cack since Chesterfield away.

He (Whitney) HAS to put that appalling performance behind us, put out an attacking formation, Milan & Morris to give us some attacking ideas, drop the hopeless underperformers Mantom & Downing, bring in Preston for some beef and aggression, rest Taylor & leave out pointless Kinsella, (so that we at least have 11 on the pitch! not his fault, but we need experienced battlers at this stage).

Agree completely about Downing and Mantom but Kinsella was one of the least guilty parties on Saturday so I just don't get what was "pointless" about him. He showed ten times the battling qualities of the feeble Downing. Of course if Jason is fit the point is moot.

We all know that Downing WILL be in the line up (it's the law down at the Bescot), so effectively that's a one goal advantage to the Shrews!!
We will just have to disagree about Saturdays inclusion of Kinsella, like I said it was not the lads fault, but he was thrown in at the deep-end against a strong, energetic, promotion bound, attack minded footy team who knew that you win footy matches by scoring goals, something we have somehow forgotten.
Let's hope for lessons learnt tonight...............come on me babbies, lets WIN this one!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

AM he's done all the changes you demanded apart from Downing (maybe he's decided it's not the time of the season to change the CB combo now, Preston has mistakes in him aswell) so cut him some slack at least until full time.

If this has to be a 4-3 win so be it, the team are at the mercy of Burton's last two results after all.

At home with man flu, the team sheet says we are really going for it - sincerely hopes it works (though I'm not sure it will), it will be great to watch if it does

Is Forde Whitney's love child? Has shown zero effect in every match I have seen, Hiwula should have been in that line up from the off, still it's positive at least..........we're off.................all to play for............(Belg is there representing us both)

Romaine Sawyers with the assist for the goal.

Shrewsbury substitution, 15 min :? (Edit - injury)

Yellow card to Wesolowski (27 min) for a bad foul on Kieron Morris

2-0!!!!!!!! Rico Henry.......much as I heartily approve, I still wonder what our left-back was doing in the centre of their penalty box.

I'll tek it though!!!

Christ, Shrewsbury are really poor - do not look up for the game at all.
If we bother to drive into their box and try a few shots (not you, Milan) then we should knock five past this lot.

A score of 6-0 (drool!!) would give us a better goal difference than Burton Albion :D

Get Mantom on, sounds like they're starting to get overrun now. Still got enough attacking players for the counter attacks.

It seems like the game has opened up, with chances aplenty at both ends.

My heart can't stand this... :?
