Peterborough Utd (H) League One, Mon 28 Dec, 3pm
A brief thread to cover my expected absence.....Posh come to us the Monday after Christmas with their free-scoring team - having found the net 47 times this season in League One, which is 10 more than we have. However, they've also conceded quite a few (34, which is more than Oldham, Shrewsbury, Blackpool, Fleetwood, Doncaster etc...). Top scorer Conor Washington has 11 goals to his name, and Angol and Maddison have weighed in with 7 each. Peterborough's current form:
21 Nov Crewe Alexandra (A) League One, Won 1-5
24 Nov Barnsley (H) League One, Won 3-2
28 Nov Scunthorpe United (A) League One, Won 0-4
6 Dec Luton Town (H) F.A. Cup 2nd round, Won 2-0
12 Dec Shrewsbury Town (H) League One, Drew 1-1
19 Dec Blackpool (A) League One, Lost 2-0
It has been reported that Tom Bradshaw will be fit to return (he may well have played against Millwall by this time), and Sean O'Driscoll will no doubt have Plans A and B ready for a game that should produce a goal or two. I'll predict a 3-2 win for the Saddlers, with Bradshaw, Sawyers and our rejuvenated Jordan Cook finding the net!! :D
UTS, and a very Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year to all our contributors........

and a Happy Christmas and New Year to you WELSH and all supporters of our team.
I would be very happy with a draw at Millwall and a home win against the Posh.

Should be our boxing day match
I'd think this would be a better turn out with Posh on a decent run of late..
3-2 with Tom, Milan and Cook off the bench..
5766 with 800 or so from Posh

I sincerely hope Monday's game attracts a decent crowd - can all regulars bring a friend please? :)
Usually there's just the 2 of us (me and son) and we will be a 'five' on Monday so come on folks - this team deserves a better backing (in number) for their achievements so far this season..

With many people (myself included) believing that Posh will be in the promotion shake up come May, this is a huge game!
Win, and we are 11 points ahead of them with a game in hand. This gap will be tough for them to claw back in the remaining games. Lose, and they are only five points behind us, a gap which they will be confident of closing on current form.
I sincerely hope for a better attendance and a performance that makes some of the extra 1000 or so want to come back. Let's go into 2016 on top boys, 3-1 to
The Mighty Saddlers!

I agree mate. There should be a crowd of at least 7,000 tomorrow but I suspect it will begin with a five.
This feels like another big one. As Finch says, an 11 point gap with a game in hand over them if we win feels close to unassailable. 5 points over 23 games feels tight.

Considering our record against the better teams in this division I'm quite optimistic. A big question mark for me is whether Andy Taylor or Rico Henry will be fit...

A 2-0 win for us, with Sawyers and Lalkovic scoring, in front of 5,362, including 600 or so Posh.
As stated above we should be looking at a much bigger gate, but it won't be :? .

Until a Chairman was offered a ten bob note, a packet of malteesers, and a bag of crisps to follow, after 2,000 premiershite appearances, by A.N. Other money bags wannabie, so that he can sit in the reserves for the next two years. But who could resist the lure of a ten bob note when a pension fund is so depleted.

Tight game ahead. Stats say a cigarette paper can't split this one. 1-0 us if we're at our best. Need to be to get one over the dirty pikeys.

Tough game would take a draw after the win at Millwall.
2-2
Should be a decent crowd today aswell.

2-1 one way or the other.
Westley to arm wrestle all takers on the centre spot and to send selfies of his successes (alternating arms) to his chairman until well past midnight.

Downing off injured early on, replaced by Matt Preston. A big challenge today for the young man, that's for sure.

Agreed. A point today would be a very handy point, particularly if others around us continue to drop points [Gillingham/Burton being held at home, Coventry losing at Chesterfield].
I'm greedy though, I want the win :)

Seems like they might be giving a bit better than they get :(
Mind you, we are missing at least two of our "best" players and one reliable defender has had to go off :( :(
And we are still in with a chance :D
I just hope it's :D in 20 minutes or so time
