Swindon Town (A) League One, Tue Nov 24th, 7.45pm
Off we go to the County Ground Swindon, to meet a Martin Ling side apparently in freefall. Currently occupying 22nd place in the League One table, only having won 4 of their 18 games is a complete turnaround from last season's showing where they ended up in the play-offs. Regular travellers will recall our last visit to Swindon when we took a deserved 0-2 lead then conceded a couple of fairly dodgy penalties before getting a point from the 3-3 result. So far this season Nicky Ajose is comfortably their leading scorer, with 7 of their 23 League One goals. The big problem is one of leaking - 33 goals so far.... current form:
20 Oct Oldham Athletic (H) League One, Lost 1-2
24 Oct Coventry City (H) League One, Drew 2-2
31 Oct Wigan Athletic (A) League One, Lost 1-0
7 Nov Rochdale (A) F.A. Cup 1st round, Lost 3-1
14 Nov Scunthorpe United (H) League One, Won 2-1
21 Nov Fleetwood Town (A) League One, Lost 5-1
There don't appear to be any injury concerns to affect Dean Smith's team selection, both substitutions against Sheffield United were tactical rather than enforced. A repetition of the kind of play exhibited in that first half should see us finding Swindon's net, and I would hope for a 0-2 or 0-3 result with Tom Bradshaw and Milan Lalkovic scoring, and maybe a piledriver from George Evans to round things off (if his initial loan hasn't expired, that is!).

Given my opinion on the Sheff U thread.
When you off on hols, Welshie? Or are you back now?

I'm back, and feeling the cold!! I saw your e-mail and tried to reply but got the "Failure" notice....I'll be at Swindon but I'm driving from Reading (after seeing daughter at Uni there). Chester made the excellent suggestion that we could meet up at the pub pre-match, so I'll head for that. See you there hopefully..... :D
To echo your sentiments about the Swindon game....I too have a bad feeling about it, but then again I seem to have that fear before every Walsall game!!! Time will tell

Re: Swindon Town (A) League One, Tue Nov 24th, 7.45pm
Matches at the County Ground have been pretty decent over the last few years, and I think this will be no exception. I would expect a reaction from Swindle after the hammering at Fleetwood so it won't be easy. Any win will do of course, but I have a sneaky suspicion it will be a hard fought 2-2 draw, with Evans and Sawyers for us.
It would be great to get at least 300 of us there, but our away support in terms of numbers has been poor so far this season [bar Blackpool] IMO, so it will probably be around 200-250.

Away score draw.
Pre and post match, Ling and Smith to blow smoke up each other's derrieres.

Potential banana skin should win easy with form of both teams but with our unbeaten away record and swindon sure to react against thumping last game anything can happen.
I am always wary of games like this as we in the past have had bad result and then beaten league leaders or in form team next match so it does happen often.
Hoping for win to stay up there.

Plenty of rattlers from London and a couple after the match
Difficult to predict this one. They are cack but newish manager and smarting after their result Saturday. Hopefully our resilience this season will once again come to the fore and we will win to keep ourselves up there. Would love to contribute to Swindle going back down :D

Love to win this one, would be incredible to be second at this stage of the season. Regardless of how well Ling will know how we play I think we're too good for Swindon this season.
Swindon 1 - 3 Walsall
Bradshaw(2), Sawyers.

Never mind Swindon's reaction. I think we'll get a reaction after failing to finish off the blunts.
We owe someone a kicking and it could be tonight, given our away form.
I would not be surprised to see a 4-1 win and vultures circling.

My prediction is going to be a 2nd 1-1 draw in succession with Sawyers getting the goal. Hopefully the pessimist in me is wrong and we get all 3 points! :D

I'd like to think we can get three points from this. Swindon can't defend for cack. They need to come at us early to appease their fans so hopefully we can pick them off at will with concerted counter attacking play.

Not going to enjoy how cold it will be, I'm going for a scrappy 1 nil win to us, Sawyers with the goal.
Actually planning to nip into a shop on the way to grab gloves and a hat.

I am going to go totally against my instinct and Say 0-5 at the end of the day we are better than fleetwood. And new manager or not. If they can't defend then they. Can't defend. I know we haven't got the most prolific goal scorers in the league. But we have some of the most creative players I have seen over the last 40 years. So who knows :)

Very hard one to call but hopefully it will be a very open game and that will play into our hands bearing that in mind I'm going to say something I never thought I would and predict Sawyers to score,
2-1. Walsall Bradshaw & Sawyers,
We won't have many fan's there Oscar told me Saturday he couldn't even get a mini bus full so 170 saddlers.

Whatever you are on at the moment, can I have some?
Just noticed Cook is starting! Has Deano got a mental problem?
In view of this aberration, I'll go for a late goal saving us from embarrassment 1-0 win, just.
Cook??????? :? :? :? :? :(
He has sooooo many players virtually at the top of their game to choose from, and he chooses Cook! Morris & Lalk on the bench, Cook on the field!
Got to be something frightening in his contract, that is all that can be ascertained.

Game live on WM & BBC Wiltshire.
Said Swindon were lacking confidence and looked poor - until the goal :x
Looked well offside apparently
