Terrific result, fully deserved. The great start to the season continues.

Special mentions to:

Milan - what a goal!

Demetriou - intelligent footballer. Definitely an upgrade on Purkiss

Matt Preston - when he came on he was immense

And finally...

Rico Henry - this lad is a class above, scratch that, he's 5 classes above. He's had what, 15 starts? Plays like he's got 10 years under his belt. Barely put a foot wrong tonight. Never mind bradshaw, if we've still got Rico come September 1st I'll be surprised.

So.....is the draw actually tonight?

After the Luton v Stoke match.

"The Round 3 draw will take place after all of tonight's games have been played."
So after the West Brom v Port Vale game, which kicked off at 8.00pm and is now in extra time..

No doubt it's on Sky (which I don't have). Anyone know if a radio station will broadcast it?

It's on Talksport

Outstanding result, fudge top bunch of lads

Great standing in the away end too, atmosphere was good tonight, if the club are listening I'd hope it's a permanent thing.

First half was like a training exercise for both teams, no tempo, no pace, just training ground football. Then they had a very soft penalty and scored, didn't really deserve to be ahead but neither did us - we both played a 433 with a defensive midfielder and pretty much cancelled each other out.

Second half was slightly higher tempo but their midfield was too strong physically for our lads to wriggle free and pick a pass. On comes Sawyers who changed the game, their lanky defensive midfielder was too slow and lumbering to catch his silky movement. Lovely ball down the right, Bradshaw crossed it low and Sawyers dragged his defender and their back line to their goalline, and then dummied the cross to to Lalkovic who had all the space to finish emphatically.

Since then we were in control until Jim O'Connor had his first real mistake in 6 months as he fouled their man, this one was a definite penalty. They changed the penalty taker for some reason, but thankfully they did cause the bloke O'Grady ballooned it over the bar like a standard Andy Butler "pass". Sawyers kept causing them problems, with Rico being nice and tidy with overlapping runs ended up with us playing some neat stuff with Romaine (I think) squaring to Rico who found himself on the penalty spot to sweep home - what a moment for the lad.

Great win.

2 quick words. The lads were very loud in the away end even though their wasn't that many, looking good IMO to keep us there. Secondly Matty Preston takes no fudge prisoners

This wonderful season goes on and on :D :D :D :D :D :D
At 0 - 1 I thought "Had to lose sometime" but I do this team an injustice in just thinking that! What a comeback! This team don't know when they're beaten (because, it seems, they never are this season). LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.
Feels good! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Fantastic win. Let's hope we get a huge money spinning draw in the next round. 5 straight wins attracts attention just at the wrong time however. Steve Coterill in the crowd tonight according to the Bristol City forum. Presumably before submitting a bid for Super Tom. If we keep Bradshaw or Henry after deadline day then we have a chance of doing something...

Come on Walsall - keep the team together. If anytime our 'steady ship' should come to fruition...it's now. We don't need to sell and it will be a Dann/Fox style loss/reaction if he goes over next weekend.

Dean Smith odds on for Manager of the Month now [if we win at Blackpool]?.

Well done to all the players and coaching staff. Second in the League and two Championship sides already beaten in the League Cup.

Bloody marvellous.

Marvellous it is.
Swansea away?

This is what it's all about. A thoroughly exciting and pleasurable experience.
Besides those mentioned by others, Morris caused them a lot of problems.
Lalkovic seems to be maturing into a very good player for us and now plays it simple when needed.
Sawyers made a big impact when he came on.
The team only really made a few errors which weren't really punished.
We look a very a good team at the moment.

The draw for the 3rd round will take place once WBA and Port Vale have settled their match. Extra time has just finished there and it's 0-0, so we have to wait for the penalty shoot-out.

Incidentally, for deafies like me, the Daily Mirror website are doing the draw live.......

Sadly I can't get my cock out, cus at my age you need a microscope to find it, but nevertheless what a fantastic start to a season we all dreaded.
This squad is just beyond belief, how could anyone justify us beating 2 Championship sides, one of whom was top of the Championship and undefeated....until tonight!
Just got back from Whitby never seen so many people in one town in my life, took us 4 hours to get back, 2 of them spent on the car park that was the A64!
What can anyone say about these lads, they are just magnificent....said as much after the Rochdale game..............just superb! Pity about the attendance.... :(
UTS...see you all at Blackpool!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
