It's a money maker ain't it and you can't knock it to be fair, though Villa fans think they're the absolute bollocks when they arrive at Bescot 'taking' over three stands.
The homes ends speak volume surely, we are bored as fudge with Aston Villa.

Is it pay on the gate for all stands tomorrow?
Went to the Notts County game in April and didn't realise you couldn't just pay to sit in the Tile choice Upper and had to go to the ticket office which had a 5 mile queue so missed the first 10 minutes.

It's only pay on the gate in the lower they usually have about 400 tickets available.

Only at Walsall could you have a sub 4k gate and have to queue for ages.

CB is Liam Wakefield and yes he is playing. Edit: replaced by Downing for 2nd half.
Forde for us.
Etheridge starts.

The official blog says that we would be wearing our new white 'away' kit, but from the still picture we are clearly wearing last years away kit. :?:

Re: Aston Villa (H) friendly - Sat 25 July 3.00pm
Decent performance against Villa who were very poor.
Positives were Adam Chambers and Sam Mantom played very well in breaking up Villa's midfield and then distributing for a quick counter attack.
Etheridge looks just as good if not better than O'Donnell in the air, not sure about everything else though - he certainly distributes the ball much quicker than O'D which is very pleasing though.
Milan looked sharp and skill full.
Rico Henry was again, very very good.
Negatives were Sawyers who messed up two counter attacks in about 2 minutes with two terrible passes.
Wakefield looks average, surely there is better out there.
Tom still looks isolated, a lack of support in general, this is probably thanks to the 4231 formation which still doesn't attack enough at home.

Same old same old I fear....
Defensive unit was solid as ever which is no surprise as that is something Smith is really good at. Wakefield looked alright, was surprised he was sub at half time as you'd think they'd want to look at him alongside Downing. Andy Taylor looked really good aswell which he'll need to be with Rico Henry waiting to take over.
Etheridge's kicking was pretty poor, will take a while for the crowd to warm to him like they did ROD imo.
Sawyers....as ever doing all the hardwork of beating opponents and then inexplicably passing the ball straight to opposition with a casual 5 yard pass.
Milan showed some nice skill on occasions but just dosen't have the look of a 10-15 goal striker to me.

Agree with most of that.
Thought the new full back was good and Sawyers excellent.

I would suggest that one of those teams that played today will be in a relegation battle.

Adam Chambers is the worst midfielder since the dawn of man, and the crabbiest crab since Sammy the Crab. Just ask anyone on here!
