Full time, and it's 0-0.
If two consecutive games without scoring doesn't show Sean O'Driscoll that we NEED more strike power, nothing will!!
In the last FIVE League One games we've scored TWO goals.....and one of those was a penalty.

Re: Scunthorpe United (H) League One, 1 Mar 7.45pm
WFC Twitter again: "92' Demetriou flashes across goal but no one can convert"
*sigh*
All I can say is at least we did not lose, but:
5 home games without a win, scoring 2 goals and taking 2 points in 2016 so far.
Why are we not signing anyone to freshen up the squad?
Has SOD been told there is no money to spend?
Have we not been able to identify anyone who is better than what we already have?
Is SOD convinced the current squad is strong enough?
Have we spent so much time and energy keeping Sawyers, Henry and Bradshaw that we have not looked at any other options?
This team need help and I just don't get it.

Agreed, but a 3rd place finish doesn't mean a lot when we're not playing with enough confidence to tackle a play-off scenario.
And 3rd place is all we can hope for at the moment....Burton Albion have vanished in a cloud of dust and I don't fancy our chances of overhauling Wigan Athletic on current form. :?

A poor result in all fairness. We've really gone off it and now can't even find the net. Worrying...badly need to find some form or else this season could end disastrously.

Re: Scunthorpe United (H) League One, 1 Mar 7.45pm
Absolutely no positives in that game - totally deflated as was the crowd, the game and the players...
How we can move up a place after that crap is more a reflection of the teams around us than our intentions and strategy
This manager has systematically ruined this squad - no doubt about it..
I doubt anyone can argue that the definition of stupidity is doing exactly the same thing when it clearly proves ineffective previously... It simply beggars belief how the team is now completely ineffective against very very average opposition.
Scunthorpe did exactly what other teams have done since SOD arrived - they simply defended us out if the game.
Tom wasted up front against 2 big centre backs - not difficult to work out eh?
Sawyers yet again ambling around midfield flicking the ball to no one
Laklovic out in the wing and almost ineffective
Mantom a lost cause tonight
I know I'm being negative but frankly it's a crying shame what is being allowed to happen to our club after the most brilliant half if the season many if us can recall..
I feel sick

Very disappointed but am I surprised by tonight's result?.....No not really. I think a 0-0 draw sums up how we are all feeling, pretty flat!

Re: Scunthorpe United (H) League One, 1 Mar 7.45pm
well if ever a bore draw could be summed up then this is it boring
we look like we wont score again this season on what ive watched in the last 3 days.
if o'driscoll is playing for draws every match then so be it but well end up in 8th place and out the play offs.
Scunthorpe were nothing special but still managed to look more dangerous than us in the final third.
we may as well played 5 5 0 formation because that is what all hom matches are looking like at the moment.
saturday we need to start rico drop sawyers play cook up front with tom and id think about dropping milan.
need to get players in the box not on halfway line like tonight.
bonser if you read this forum you know what you need to do now not in the summer when its too late
please sort this rot out else trust me your pension pot of championship football will slip away before your very eyes.

That really was complete drivel.
No urgency, no fight, no skill, no drive, no flair, no spark.
We created zero chances, except for a corner where Morris hit the bar. That was as exciting as it got.
At least he made two substitutions, with 20 mins left.
No use happy clapping , if anyone wants us to be in the play offs they should be worried. We play like a bottom four side at the moment.
Tom Bradshaw looks desperate up front, Sawyers has backed out of every tackle since january, Demetriou gets skinned every week, Lalkovic couldnt beat an egg and even Chambers is giving the ball away.
Being good was fun while it lasted.

I agree - dreadful reflection of a club in generally poor shape despite our position in the league
If we are honest any team in 3rd should be testing the opposition in all areas but we look tame and inept in most positions... And have done for many weeks now...
Home form is basically awful and we are near the bottom of the overall current form table - good god what is going wrong at the club...
We are playing crap, the manager refuses to be realistic and the board seem happy for it to continue without any action to try to stir things up..
A few months ago I was dead against signings for signings sake and bought into the disruption of the team logic but frankly we NEED action otherwise this oh so promising season will be lost

Re: Scunthorpe United (H) League One, 1 Mar 7.45pm
At the moment our goal scoring tactics are to play the ball up to Tom and saying there you go, beat two men on your own and score. It's never going to work, anyone can see that.
Against Barnsley on Saturday, with the form they are in, we will get murdered. Not looking forward to it.

The one side that buck the trend. Name another....
Shrewsbury got over 4k for a game with Rochdale
Most teams in the bottom 6-7 bar Fleetwood & Colchester would be pushing 6-7k if they swapped places with us. It's abysmal

Agreed, but it was always going to be so given current form, first Tuesday home league game, small away following and average opposition.

Re: Scunthorpe United (H) League One, 1 Mar 7.45pm
What worried me most today was the lack of smiles on the players faces. All that previous enjoyment - Bradshaw, Sawyers, Demetriou etc enjoying playing with each other - has gone. Obviously their form will influence that but I have to wonder if it is playing for SOD... just seems so flat and looks like a reflection of the manager.
Mentioned the boos at full time elsewhere... unbelievable. Ok our form isn't the best but we're a team with cack gates, no money and are still third FFS.

The club are too busy writing press excuses for the manager to reel off after inept performances to think about any creativity for attracting more fans to watch our very mediocre offerings at home!!!

Funk our attendance has nothing to do with league position. It didn't stop us being top for periods of the season did it ? Also there has been some big away followings recently people have to pick their games and not blow all wages on football. Attendances aren't stopping Burton either are they ?
I'm off to bed in a bad mood AGAIN !! SODOFF

I'd be surprised if Crewe, Colchester and Oldham got 6,000 at home if they were third and playing Scunthorpe at home on a Tuesday. Unless it was free to get in  .

To put it simply Coop there's no excuse. Even Yeovil were getting 5-6k average when they were in this position. How dare our fans moan about being third in the league when we have a League Two support! Potentially Oldham are a massive club fanbase wise, they've just stagnated for too long.
I'm not knocking those that go, just giving a bit of perspective to all those that think we should be rolling the Scunthorpe's, Crewe's etc of this world over.....we are more Crewe than we are Sheffield United I'm afraid.
Performance goes in hand in hand with stature, club size & resource. If I was Bonser I would be thankful tonight that I haven't gambled and got any players in when the town can't be arsed to support the club. End of.
