Fleetwood Town (H) League One 11 Apr, 3pm
Six games left in this frustrating season and we have the opportunity to complete the double over Fleetwood, having won the away fixture back in November courtesy of a Romaine Sawyers goal because Tom Bradshaw was unavailable through injury. Fleetwood are currently 4 points away from the play-off zone on 59 points, having come up from League Two via their play-offs last season. Their manager Graham Alexander has a win percentage with Fleetwood of just over 41% - compare that to our Ginger Mourinho.........current form:
14 Mar Rochdale (H) Won 1-0
17 Mar Coventry City (H) Lost 0-2
21 Mar Bradford City (A) Drew 2-2
29 Mar Preston North End (H) Drew 1-1
3 Apr Gillingham (A) Won 0-1
6 Apr Yeovil Town (H) Won 4-0
No outstanding scorers in Fleetwood's ranks in the Bradshaw mould, but Ball, Morris and Proctor have weighed in with 7 goals each this season. Up until last Saturday's demolition of Yeovil Town much discontent was raised about the poor scoring, and even after that 4-0 win Fleetwood's goal difference is only +1.
Dean Smith should have Tom Bradshaw back in contention for this one, and he may well choose not to risk him from the start but keep him as a "Super-sub" threat if the need arises (as it surely would). On the other hand he may consider calling up one or two of our reserves, who put 7 past an admittedly weak Morecambe side (away) with Bakayoko, Sutherland (trialist), Henry, Murphy, Flanagan, Rowley and even Baxendale all scoring. One Morecambe forum's assessment was "Great to see football played the way it should be....pass and move, lots of fight, tenacity, and skill on show. Well, at least the away side showed all of these qualities."
Fleetwood, with the play-offs a distinct possibility, should be on top of their game - I think we will do well to come away with a point bearing in mind our home track record. However, as we managed to get 3 points at their place I will go for a 1-0 home win thanks to a goal from Jordy Hiwula, who will be with us for the rest of this season....and afterwards?

I genuinely believe we will win but it won't be good or pretty Fleetwood are cack and just shows how weak the league is that they are only 4 pts off the play offs and how rubbish we've been to be below them
1-0 to the saddlers
Cain.
Att : 3200 bored Walsall, 105 Fleetwood.
Unless it's some kind of family fun day if it is it will end 0-0.

I'd say they'll be really fired up with their chance of getting into the playoffs.
If we play "football played the way it should be....pass and move, lots of fight, tenacity, and skill on show" then we'll be ok.
Otherwise we're donalded....

0-0 or 1-1, in front of 3,548, including 145 from Fleetwood.

Walsall 0-2 Fleetwood :(
Smith will start Bradshaw, dropping hiwula & putting cook on the wing. Bradshaw will limp off after 35 minutes, as he's not match fit, but Smith is grasping at straws

There's more chance of us being hit by an avalanche of snow off Barr Beacon than us scoring 5

My crouching tiger hidden dragon inside me says 2-0 either way. Cook and Bradshaw are names that are being whispered to me. Ball will get the second goal for Fleetwood if they win, bottom left corner in front of the TC stand. Cain to get motm.
That is all.
That is all.

Don't know if I can make this one yet. I think a 1-0 to us with an attendance of 3821. O'Connor to score from a Morris corner. Can't be more precise than that!!

Fortunately I have a complication with my new job so I now can't get to the game. Who said that there wasn't a God?
Putting my sensible head on for a second, I genuinely fear this game. If we do stuff it up at least we have the chance to put it right on Tuesday against Crawley, the only problem is, if we do stuff this up today we wont put it right on Tuesday (Does that make sense?). We have to win today.
I think we will win today, but only by one goal, but everyone else around us will win too so we wont pull away.

3-1 win after dodgy start.
All three Walsall goals will be celebrated by re-enacting that player's favourite movie scenes.
56 mins - Cook (Thelma and Louise)
68 mins - Cain (Get Carter)
90+3mins - Sawyers (His celebration will be so obscure it will have modern day thinkers pondering for years to come - he is THAT enigmatic)
Sorted

Re: Fleetwood Town (H) League One 11 Apr, 3pm
I've been as vocal as anyone about how poor our home form is.
But it's match day, the sun's out and there's something on it for both sides.
The strangely orange ladies (who only used to appear for a stroll up Lord Street in Southport on 12 th July) in their pre-race velour trackies and curlers who are knocking around here this morning underline why there's nothing else I'd rather be doing or nowhere else I'd rather be.
Come on lads. 1-0 Bradshaw (pen). 3,750

Quite simply a MUST WIN game. Anything less, we will be relegated, simple as that.
