On another topic, looks as if Hartlepool's stay in the footy league is looking doomed...sad, we always had a soft spot for each other, due to our history of perpetual re-elections in 'the old days' :(

Sky Sports made same mistake, but both correct themselves now.

Vile have stole a 2-1 win against Bagladies with last minute Benteke penalty thanks to dodgey goalkeeping from Foster... They'll be after O'Donnell now

Loach the man of the match for Yeovil... sounds like ROD has had a good night, making some good saves. Game should be out of sight by now though.

How to make hard work of a match that should have been out of sight. At least a 1-0 win.

Not sure whether this was a good result or not (which sounds bizarre)! Both keeper's played well but we should have scored five.

FT 1-0.

Sounds like both teams can thank keepers for keeping scores down. Loach the home keeper man of the match, O'Donnell making a penalty save and 1 or 2 other excellent saves after the hour, by which time we should have been 3 or 4 up. 16 off, 12 on according to Bet365 and 8 corners...you need more goals from that.

Still, this is why I trust and have faith in Smith. When things get REALLY sticky, he pulls out a result and all of a sudden we look comfortable again. Until that stops happening he will always have my faith and support, no matter how much 'Smith out' we here. He also found Hiwula, also played him upfront as part of a 2, or 3 and made strong calls dropping O'Connor and specifically Cain this evening.

Big props to Deano and the players. With Wembley round the corner a windy night in Yeovil with low confidence and bad form can spell some horrific results, but testament to the team - we do have guts and the ability to dig in.

It was obvious we would win tonight, we were away. AM are you driving to Barnsley? Not sure if I can go yet but am trying.

Good Win.

I agree with Saddlers... but I bet Smith won't get as much credit on here as he gets stick when we lose, seems he is only at fault for losing and never credited for winning. I expect this thread won't get many more pages as per when we win.

Still, an important 3 points.

DS 'mixed it' a little and we got the points, although O'Donnell saved us again at the end. Credit where credit is due. Let's hope the players/management don't go back in the 'comfort zone' for the next match.

Three tough ones to come before Wembley:

Barnsley A [it goes to show what a few decent results can do for your league position!]
MK Dons H [due a home win against them]
Sheffield United H [in their annual fight against promotion]

Also, we have to remember that Smith went with Flanagan tonight, dropped one of his most senior players and Cain who has played every game since Crawley in November. With Cook/Forde arguably two of our most influential and creative players missing (Especially Forde who has been excellent since Christmas) then tonight is an even better result - especially considering we should have been 4 or 5 up before Yeovil came to the fore.

We needed that, an absolutely solid month of March coming up. Be surprised if we win again.

Did Bax play as part of a midfield 3 tonight by the way? It looked and sounded a 4-3-3 to me, buy Grimes for Bax at the end perhaps suggests not.

I'd imagine Hiwula was wide left, Baxo wide right and Sawyers in behind Bradshaw.

I'd be surprised to hear that Deano changed the shape.

Great result. Hopefully, we can take it into Saturday and banish relegation worries.

Sounds like we went for it and could have had more, but then are left thanking O'Donnell in the end.

Need to start doing this at home because there's a few season ticket holders having second thoughts and with an already apparently small budget, that would harm us.

Smith shook it up and got a result, will anyone give him any credit for that?

I for one am sick of hearing Smith getting slated for having no plan B, well he did tonight and he deserves credit for that! We aren't going down and thank god we aren't going up so why not try some new ideas out and see how it works.

Smith has done wonders for this club and its about time he got some credit.

What? One of the worst home records (over more than one season) for a long time? Cracking.

6 points from the next 9 before Wembley should cheer me up though.

Same question as ever who would do better we are a division two club in terms of wages and attendances, my guess he doesn't get a whopping salary either, bring back Dog Face, Merson or Jan ??

One of the best away records. If he can sort us out at home, which I think is more likely than us losing our away form then we're in with a promotion shout. Well done Deano. When we lose and you criticise I kind of get it, when we win... give it a rest.

Feel free to not only give him credit for every win but also every loss and draw, I do and after watching the usual dross on Saturday I didn't burst into tears when SMITHOUT got criticised neither did I embark on some pointless post count.
