Unless I'm forgetting someone, I'm pretty sure that our 18 today comprises every fit member of our senior squad bar Morris, Heath, Roberts, Bakayoko & Benning (all out on loan). The starting line-up & bench picked itself through necessity today.
Shows then, how weak our squad actually is.

Look at the other scores so far in league 1....
Scunny 3 Swindon 1
Gills 3 Franchise 2
Oldham 0 Colchester 1
Crewe 2 Fleetwood 0
Posh 2 Rochdale 1
Maybe a missed opportunity but really it's been such an average league this season, even the top teams aren't that much cop this season.

Just trotting out the remainder of the league programme, as long as we don't get into a relegation battle, seems our management are happy...sad, will NOT bring the fans back to the bezza.

0-1 :( Another lost opportunity ??
This league is open to for a number of teams to be in the top 6. Appears that we do not want it badly enough.

One place open really...Sheffield United had a great win at Bristol today, they'll finish top 6.

I think it will be a lot like the last couple of seasons, string a couple of good results together and creep to the edge of the playoffs and then lose a couple...........repeat until 12th to 10th place finish is achieved at end of season. Its the Walsall way

What the Donald is wrong with us at the moment? Vile had 5 shots, all on target. We had 10 with a 20% on-target rate. Not good enough. Await reports with resignation. :(
Thank god we're the away team at Wembley.

Total attempts says more about a team's threat than just those on target. A weak shot that trickles through to the keeper counts as on target whereas one that rattles the post or bar with the keeper beaten is off target.
Would have been in 6th had we won today. Very frustrating.

Thought we played really well in the first half, we competed well, made some good chances only to run up against the worst fudge referee who's ever graced the third division following his deserved sacking by the Premiershit. Shooting is too fudge good for d'Urso, I'd suggest a live on-pitch dissection to see whether his body cavity is completely full of cack.
We were clueless in the 2nd half, and would have lost by more if O'D hadn't made a world class reaction save from a deflected free kick. Vale were the fudge pits - if we bring in a dogface mark 2 like they have, I'm never getting a ST again.
Not enough edge, our subs looked like babies against monsters when they came on - this is why we aint going to make the playoffs.
And to top it off, I had the misfortune to hear that cretin Alan on Radio Dingle - how can we whimper about tonka when this is the on-air voice of Walsall fans. cack day, time for lots of alcohol

That is spot on.
Phil you seem to enjoy putting your broken record on the record player after a defeat yet take no pleasure when we win. Why is that?

poor result....could've been 6th
but i think that's the play-offs gone
shows lack of ambition, drive and determination....and perhaps lacking in quality of management
could end up being a 0-5 humiliation at the egg cup final......revenge for '88 play-offs

Can't believe he's still reffing...he was the one in 1999 who Roy Keane and the rest of the Man. United team chased round Old Trafford.
Given a lot of refs retire at 45-47 range he must be close to that now surely. Terrible ref.

Re: Port Vale (H) League One Feb 14th, 3pm
I know it's the result which counts before anyone reminds me.
However, we did hit the post, had a nailed on penalty waived away and conceded a goal which looked like a definite foul to me. Not to mention dirty play by Vale, the useless referee and linesman and the players who kept trying to wind Sawyers up by pushing and shoving him as much as possible.
We lost the battle but we have not lost the war.

The ref had the perfect view of the penalty decision, if TV evidence confirms it was a foul I think questions need to be asked.
Taylor was also climbed all over for their goal, once again the ref and the linesman had a perfect view!

Re: Port Vale (H) League One Feb 14th, 3pm
Thought too many of our players had off days today. Downing looked tired, Purkiss was blowing out of his arse second half and Cain mom? Please!!! We resorted to trying to knock it up against Giants which was never going to happen. Special note about the officials, they were the weakest I have seen in a long time. Regardless of the countless decisions against us they just didn't stamp any authority on the pitch. Their number 33 should have gone in the 23rd minute but carried on because he knew he could get away with it.
